I am looking to purchase a Roland CX-300 plotter in the next 2 weeks and the best price as of yet that I have found is $2795.00
Any help on a better price would be great and anyone that currently has one of these machines with any good or bad experiences would help alot, We have ran rolands for years and have always had good luck with them, this is the main reason that I'm going with Roland again, also we cut directly from Corel 10, so this is also a factor...
Thanks for your replies,
Shawn

I've got a CM-300. I'm not sure what the difference is between the CX and CM? I like the machine though, hasn't missed a beat in the two years I've had it. We also have a Summa. Honestly, the Summa's have a much more "solid" feel to them. Of course I'm speaking of the D-610, but I'm sure the newer models are just as solid.

correct me if iam wrong...the CM-300 is the same as the old CM-24, this is like $1900 new, downforce on it is only 200 and it cuts at 15 ips. the CX-300 is the pro model and has a downforce 300-350, cuts at 34-35 ips and is built to the "true" roland chassie. hence the $2795 price....

Thanks for the input folks, yes the cx is the faster model with more down-force, we've been having to cut from a pnc-5000 for a while now and it just isn't fast enough, fine for a back-up cutter though. I don't have a problem with the $2795.00 price, but I've seen them selling for as much as $3495.00 with some dealers, hence my wondering if there was yet a better price out there...
I'm goung to get it at the Columbus show next week, so I'll let you know how I like it.
Have a good one, and if anyone is going to be in Columbus, hope to see you there.

The CM & CX-300 have the same speed & downforce according to the specs. The CX replaced the CM apparently. Looks like both are pro models. The CX looks to have some newer features like USB and such.
