Is anyone using the xpresscreen system. I like the idea of being able to setup a screen within minutes without using emulsions and the exposure unit looked idiot proof. What are the Pros - Cons of this system?

I watched it at another trade show. For basic, general purpose printing and short runs, I think its a neat system.
Some of the drawbacks is the setup expense. The treated mesh is expensive relatively speaking.
Also, the newtons (measurement of tension) isn't all that great, so there is a risk of using too much pressure and causing the mesh to elongate as you pull or push the squeegee. This isn't too much of a problem if the job is a one color print, but don't expect really tight registration on multiple colors - especially on longer runs.
But, if you are looking to get your feet wet, its not a bad way to start.

A screenprint shop in town that I do a lot of contract artwork for, has one. I believe they started out with it. I know they still use the exposure system everyday.
Looks to me that it would be fine for single color work, or to do small runs on.
I will ask what his opinion is on the matter. I'm not sure what they cost, but it seems to me that you could find some great used equipment out there for a lot less money.
