OK here is one. My wife is an artist, and for our anniversary/birthday, I am thinking about a drawing tablet for her to use with the computer, and if I'm lucky she will let me use it as well . I'm sure some of you have one, and would like to know some comments, ie how do you like it, which are the better ones, programs? Anything to help make a decision would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there are a lot of us that would like to know more about it, but like me afraid to ask. Appreciate your comments, gotta make a decision fast, Thanks, Ed

Get her a wacom brand tablet, preferrably one of the Intuos models as it will offer her the greatest flexibility.
There's no question of whether or not she'll like it, she will.
You wont need any special software to make use of it or its features if you already have photoshop or corel photopaint, both programs recognize the pressure sensitivity of the tablet. Otherwise the tablet works with its own drivers and it comes bundled with some neat software.

If you click on the search link above and type in Wacom as your search, you'll get a bunch of threads where this has been discussed before. I'm sure she'll love it too.

I have a 12X12 Wacom tablet I like a great deal. My advice would be to buy the biggest tablet you can afford (up to 12X12 - no bigger is necessary)
If you want to draw with it (like in freehand) then there is no better brogram than Painter (now by Corel)
Check out my web site www.giggleridge.com everything there is drawn on the computer with a pad and Painter.
Learning the program is a snap. Real quick learning curve compaired to other programs. I do use Photoshop quite a bit for editing and sizing etc. but it can all be done in Painter.
Have fun with it.... it's addicting.
