Whoo hoo I've just finished my biggest ever job. 40 4x8 foot panels, with 3 foot striping over the whole lot. This job nearly busted a couple of valves where they shouldn't bust.
I'm really new to this game and because I don't know anything about it (well proper training), I don't know when to say "no I don't think so..."
I looked at the building, thought yeah why not.
I then quoted and got the BLOODY THING.
I THEN REALISED IT'S ALL OVER ELEVEN METRES IN THE AIR.
Ok so off I go to get a licence to operate and hire an elevated work platform ( cherry picker over here), blitzed that and was armed and dangerous.
Did I forget to mention that I'm S#$t scared of heights?
Anyway after some great encouragement from you guys here I started the job.
I'm amazed.....
Customer...Pleased
Me ......Buggered
Customer...5 More shops to do Lee. Window tint this one...pull your finger out and do my other shops.
I think I said it before...I LOVE MY JOB.

Congrats! That sounds like quite a project. Failing to notice the "11 meters" part after actually looking at the building sounds like a bidding error you won't make twice.
How did you make out financially in the end? Would you do it again for the same price? If not, don't wait till they ask for more similar work to say so.
I hate to raise the price for same work when a client comes back to me, but if (when) I underbid, I have just told the client right off, after they pay, that it may need adjusting in the future.
One thing worse then finishing a job feeling a little underpaid, is starting one feeling that way.
