Have a 2' x 3' oval hanging sign to make. Never done a hanging sign before. I have tons of 1/2" MDO left from other jobs. Is this thick enough to make a hanging sign? How about warping? What type of mounting hardware would I need to keep it from swinging back and forth? It will be hanging from a straight bracket on the side of a 4" x 4" post I believe.
Sorry for the dumb dumb questions! Just something new to me!

For only a 2'x3' sign 1/2" is just fine and keeps the weight down too, but be certain to completely seal the edges to avoid warp, especially in your humid area. Mount with a rigid strap iron and bolts through the plywood. Also mount the bracket to the post with bolts all the way through the post which according to my wind-load charts, should be 5/16" bolts or thicker.
