Budget three page "online portfolio" website. $25.00 a month, No charge to design, since I designed in Corel and E-mailed to them. Two pages of pictures. The faux finish pics enlarge if you click on them. I still have to send them the sign pics so they can link to enlarge.
The cost you mention doesn't seem that reasonable to me... except if you factor in the cost of having someone post the site for you. I know I pay considerably less than that per month.
The site looks GREAT as does the work posted there. Nice stuff! One small comment... I wouldn't have made all the photos the same size?

I can't comment on the cost - but I will say that you have a lovely site...and do some really beautiful work!
I think it would be improved if your visitors could click on the photo's to see enlarged versions -- and maybe a brief "bio" about the job...materials you chose, and why...maybe a testimonial from that specific customer...you get the idea.

That's a nice looking site, you obviously do great looking work!
We may be able to offer more bang for your buck as far as hosting: $15/mo.($10/mo. if you pay yearly)we also have some package programs if you don't want to design or update it yourself.
btw, how long have you been "faux painting"?

I THOUGHT $25.00 a month was cheap, others I talked to said they paid more like $45-50 to host and $400-1,500 to design.
Jon, the faux pics will enlage if you click on them, I still have send them the sign pics so they will enlarge. Also, need put in small print "click to enlarge", so people will know.
Michael, Do you host websites? This my first one, so I'm a little green in this area. Always looking to improve it! How would I get it to you? I've been faux painting for about ten years, seems to go well with the sign work.
Cheers

Like you I did up my own design in Photoshop and then had it posted to my site. In my case my son-in-law did the posting for me. With 20 or so pages it still only took him a couple of hours to do it. (I did pay him)
The hosting only cost me $20 canadian/month which is about $13 US/month and thats's with our telephone company. I don't have their header on my site and no annoying pop-ups etc. They give me lots of room... my site at 20 pages still fits with lots of room left over.
Shop around and you may do better. And there's always a techie who can post it for you. They don't have to do the design work... that's your job and you do it well from the look of your site.

Ive used Hypermart.com for hosting several sites, about $100/yr with no advertising added, or free with their ads (a banner or pop-up- your choice) There are many others these days with even more features for under $100/yr. and you can get your domain for less than $10 a year.
