Mornin' all. First of all, let me say sorry to all you guys I left hanging last week.
I've been having trouble connecting to the net. I get booted off as soon as I connect, I connect but the bytes sent/received are frozen, I can't send or receive emails, I've been stuck. Has anyone here experienced this before? Does anyone know a solution?
Thanks, & again, sorry folks!

I recently went through a similar situation. After calling the phone company and the internet provider and going through my hardware and software we finally found that the problem was with my Norton Security program. It was blocking my connections. My son figured out that I had to update the program and log on before connecting. Since then, no problems.

Hi Felix, Question(s): What Windows are you running? What browser, and what connection? Dial-up? High-speed?
I ask because I had similar problems as soon as I switched to WinXP- turns out my ISP's program wasn't compatible. Windows DOES do a great job of connecting though...
Could also be a firewall in the software- Mine was enabled, unbeknowest to me, and it would take 15 minutes to open websites...

If you havent installed any new software lately or changed anything else in the system, try rebooting the machine.
If you run Windows and you connect to the internet using a dial-up connection but you dont shut down the computer for days on end, the system becomes "hosed". It just cant connect, has bad connections, cant get email, cant browse worth a darn, etc etc... basically the same symptoms you describe.
Doing a complete shutdown and turning off the machine for a few moments usually clears it right up.
