I have been using AOL's Instant Messenger for years and now all of a sudden I am getting this little blinking icon on top of the Instant Messenger icon in my task bar (See Picture). Has anyone else ever seen this? Anyone know what it is?

I use AOL full-time so I don't have the icon on my task bar but my best guess would be that they might be trying to get you to upgrade? Have you tried placing your cursor right on the blinking icon and see if it says anything? If not try double-clicking it and see what pops-up.

Yep, tried everything! Even tried to find a place on AOL about it or some where to email the picture and question to. I have 4.7.2. Maybe I should check what version they are on! I just hate upgrading because they change things on ya! Thanks!

Sure, you can receive mail alerts on either regular AOL email or AIM. I just signed up for baseball score alerts.
