What would you charge to do an installation similar to the pict below? The letters will likely be either cast or minnesota letters with studs. I will need to use a hammer drill to go into cement block. The sign is two sided. Obviously the place holder portion isn't being installed!!
6" 4" & 5" letters
I was thinking $225 for a two man crew. Is that high? Low?

Amy, Just the 2 paper pattern, marked for stud placement would take 2-3 man hours! Then 6-7 hours to install. I do not thing it would take 2 men to install. John Arnott

Seems a little on the low side to me. Just looking at the price guides... you are WAY low. I guess it depends on how fast they are and how much (profit) you want to make on this project.

Amy I agree with the rest that you are a bit low. Couple of questions. Are the letters being install at site along with the sign or are they just installing the sign between the two pillars? If they are installing letters on site and each doing a side, with a pounce pattern in hand and two cordless drills I think 2 1/2 or 3 hours a side maybe less if they are experienced and fast. Since you mentioned a hammer drill I assume you are putting up the actual sign between the pillars. Are you supplying the hardware or are they? Could you pre-pounce and drill the signs and even install the letters before hand? Any way, I think it's a bit low. Good luck.

I will just be putting up the letters. I will order the stud patterns from gemini. The sign is solid block with stucco finished front. I jumped my price to $475. I added wrong on the first go around! The cement block is what I would use the hammerdrill for! Thanks for the replies guys!

a DEWALT corded hammer drill will cost you $159.00.....battery one $199.00....you need to add that to the cost of instalation...hehehehe

Amy, I think it will be a five hour install with a pattern. Before I'd go on the job I'd lay the pattern over a blank piece of pattern paper and punch the holes through so you can have one pattern on each side. Often the paper tears and the holes get elongated when drilling. I'd be sure to order the letters with aluminum studs rather than steel. No rust streaks and they bend enough so you can make sleight adjustments so the letters get visually aligned. Often we need to plan a second trip to remove the duct tape that holds each letter while the adhesive sets. Plan on time to remove some adhesive residue from some of the letter surfaces also. Oh, bring more than one drill bit.
