I'm doing some magnetics where the backround is faded. Washed out looking. A faded flag to be exact. The lettering in front will be bold, crisp and sharp. I was wondering if there is a trick to getting that faded color without adding white. Adding white creates more of a pastel and I need the fade. Any tips?

If by faded you mean transparent (not faded as in old), maybe you could mix it down in clear. Not sure the look your going for ... I've enjoyed mixing my 1shot with a bunch of tinting clear lately for through the airbrush.

Bobby, if you mean fades as in dull, you can add Chromematic flattening agent to your paint and airbrush it or add some Talcum powder into your paint if using a paint brush.
Marks suggestion with Tinting clear is right on as well but it will shine. My advise is to experiment using all suggestions maybe even together.

so is the 4005 UV clear compatible for mixing with the other colors??? Thank you! Those suggestions sound like they'll work!
