Sorry for the mulitple post. I forgot how to post a picture!

I need a reality check! 10'x20' billboard on 1/2" MDO - installed with tear down of existing. Easy access. Backgrounds painted, lettering vinyl.

How much would you price it at with a bucket truck?

I priced it for 1800.00! Haven't heard yet.....

Thanks for the input! [Cool]

How high is the structure? Is there a platform to work off of ? Is it steel or a wood build ? The big outdoor companies here pay $1.40 a sq ft for printed digital stretch faces then pay contractors 45 cents a sq to hang them,no need for bucket trucks,...you do the math,...

well 1800 is cheap, if you add in bucket truck rental. 200 s f @ $10 sf is $2000.00...and as for vinyl on something that big....you need to add more for vinyl and tape. painting some thing that big without buying the mdo boards and the install would be a flat $4 a sf. $4 x 200= $800. now add 5 1/2 mod sheets 10 ft each, $60 ea.x 5= $300.00.
now your at $1100. bucket truck rental $100 a day 2 days for sure, now your at $1300. and if you do it in vinyl your gona spend $4-500 for tape and vinyl......lots a work....

Thanks for the input. I live in a little town and are drawn into "how cheap" can you make it game. I just priced this and had some resistance so, in order to keep my pricing up I needed to know what other were charging. I priced this on Estimate with a 51% margin and came out to 1800.00 so just wanted to check with some others.

Thanks,

Chuck

Timi, It's about 8' off the ground. Level ground and the structure is there and made of steel. I just need to take down old panels and put the new ones.

Chuck,...keep in mind that the outdoor firms pay wholesale rates to contractors, and the digital flex faces are wholesale priced.I forgot to mention any markups. If it is a one time retail job I usually charge about $1500 for a job like this. I don't see a real need for a bucket truck on a structure that you can reach the bottom of with a 8' step ladder and the top with a normal ladder.
Oh yea,...I forgot to add I wouldn't use vinyl lettering on a billboard that size or larger it is more cost effective to paint the copy for me,...

Thanks Tim,

I just came from the customer and after she got back up from quote, she told me she had a bid for 400.00 for a print. I'll see what happens.

Anyway, thanks for the help!

See ya
