MORE THAN OCCASSIONALLY, SOMEONE POSTS ABOUT A PROBLEM WITH THEIR PROGRAM......IT WON'T DO THIS...IT WON'T DO THAT! WE ALL GO THROUGH IT. THIS SHOULD BE PROOF THAT EACH AND EVERY PROGRAM HAS A GLITCH OR 2 OR 3 THAT WE CAN'T FIGURE OUT, OR HAVE TO WORK AROUND. THE POINT IS....THERE IS NO PERFECT PROGRAM. IF ONE SEEMS BETTER THAN ANOTHER, IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE WE'RE JUST USED TO IT. THEY'LL NEVER BE PERFECT! IF THEY WERE, HOW COULD THE MANUFACTURERS SELL YOU AN UPGRADE! HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS HAVE QWE SPENT ON UPGRADES IN ORDER TO OVERCOME THE PROBLEMS OF THE PROGRAM WE ALREADY HAVE!? I'VE GOTTEN TO THE POINT OF "IF WHAT I GOT WON'T DO IT....THE HELL WITH IT"! ANY THOUGHTS OR RAVINGS ON THIS SUBJECT.

First of all, please don't SHOUT. U&lc is the more polite way to write something.
Bob, The whole reason people are "complaining" in posts about their computer programs is because they are hoping that someone out there has already experienced and subsequently figured out a solution to the problem. This world is too big and difficult to get through alone.

Bob, have you been talking to Old Paint? I gotta agree, most of the problems seem to be assoicated to aspects of programs not yet figuraed out by the user or poorly explained or neglected in the user's manual. It's hard to remember that the manual are written by technical writers, not the programers or real endusers, just some journalism grad who read up for a while then wrote the manual. Tomorrow the same guy will be writing about how to install a new hardrive in a computer or something else he knows little about today. The other aspect is upgrades come too damn quick and 8 releases of 1 version is too many. Consumers need to be able to upgrade 1 version ABSOLUTELY FREE. Boy I gues that will get some programers and software sellers upset. I ain't against them making their money, if they ain't against me getting the value for mine.

WHAT'D I DO???????? JEEZZEEEE!!!i didnt even post to this and iam catchin s**t! hahahahahahaha i agree with what bob says, but if you have more then one program you can do all with ease. 1. corel- for design, layout and cutting...least expensive, easy to use(once you learnt it) and i prefer version 7.467 is the most stable of em all. stream line 4.0 for vectorization...best little program and version 4 has been around since 97-98 and no upgrades yet....PRINT ARTIST 6.0 is great little $50 program with tons of clipart, for those things you get requests for. the graphic in PA gets copyied to clipboard, paste in corel...and WALA its a vector graphic. also if the PA GRAPHIC IS TO COMPLICATED for copy/paste, PA has a COLORING BOOK print mode. then scan and ya got it. bookkeeping QUICKEN HOME & SMALL BUSINESS, simply and not more crap that you dont need. LOTUS ORGANIZER for those who are organized....addresses, calander, by month by year.....day planner....i can go on..but these are the bsics.....and i do 90% of my work with just these...

I AGREE WITH BOB IN REGARDS TO PROGRAMS, UPDATES AND TYPING IN ALL CAPITALS ! WHY IS TYPING IN ALL CAPS IS CALLED SHOUTING? WHY MUST ONE THINK THAT ANOTHER HAS TO CHILL OUT, SO TO SPEAK JUST TO POST A STATEMENT?
WHY ARE LETTERS CALLED FONTS?
WHY ARE COMPUTER GENERATED DESIGNED SIGNAGE CALLED LOGOS?
WHY HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE ENTERED THIS BUSINESS WITHOUT A CLUE OF WHAT TO DO, AND WHY MUST THOSE WHO HAVE A CLUE OF WHAT TO DO HAVE TO HELP WITHOUT A PAYCHECK?
WHY?

AND IF YOUR BIGGEST PROBLEM IS ME USING CAPITAL LETTERS....YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL! HAVE A NICE DAY!

Bob, today I used the power weed function in CoCut and it saved me so much time I wondered why I didn’t read the manual earlier. Damn that company for not telling me to not be so STUPID, after all software is never finished but always in a state of upgrade!

I don't disagree, Bob, that a lot of software upgrades are simply 'bug fixes', but look how far coreldraw has evolved. It still has some 'issues' but look at all the features and tools it now has compared to earlier versions. I honestly am looking forward to buying coreldraw 11 when it'll be released just to see what's new in it. I'm sure the same holds true for other softwares ... (not too sure about operating systems 'tho)

i think this is all priMATIVE RESOURCES COMMING TOGETHER LIKE the old victrola to todays compact disc. PRETTY SOON THERE WILL BE NO UPGRADES AND UPDATES AND EVERything will operate like a sony playstation or a television. we're all just using what IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. i'VE MET A LOT OF PROGRAMMERS WHO HAVE WROTE SOME OF THESE BIG PROGRAMS AND it's amazing they can get their car (or bicycle in some cases) to work let alone WRITE A MILLION DOLLAR PROGRAM. GOOD POST BOB!

Stephen, helping those who do this craft is alot different then helping those who haven't have a clue of why they chose this craft. Over the years I've helped many persons including yourself on projects everyone encounters when choosing paint as their medium, thats because its what I know. My website proves this point as still being in the top 5 world-wide on any search engine.
If you feel that re-inventing this craft is something that is not supposed to cater to me, then I guess questions coming from me is also a no-no. Stephen, you have never failed to amaze me with your insinuations of my replies as if you got it all together and down pat!
NO FLAMES, JUST FACTS!
