I am tired of this slop!! All it does is RAIN in Seattle. 6 months (at least) out of the year. Seattle sucks. Anyone want to trade their sunshine for some rain????? I have had it. I am freezing my ass off. Woodstove has been going for 6 months. I have my tunes cranked. I have lots of sign jobs. Oh sure>>>>we have great coffee here......the only thing we lack is SUNSHINE!!!! Hey how about a trade. I get to go to stay somewhere sunny for a bit......you can stay here. You Feed Dog. Feed Cats. Fix leaky roof. (heh)
Well of course I am kidding. But.......I wonder about the perfect place to live. Seattle is beautiful when the sun shines. But Where IS the Perfect Place??? I like the green Seattle has...the water....but I need more sun man. Where do YOU live? Is it nice?

Been thinking the same thing myself Cheryl. I lived in Fresno so I know what its like to have toooo much sun, but this is getting old. If biz was't so good I'd be gone by now. I know...Hawaii !!! Greenery and sunshine ! Low cost of living and sparse population too I hear [Wink]

Ah my heart goes out to you, come on down to Fresno, like Jim said it has "PLENTY" of sun in the summer, you can even get a tan in about an hour around June time [Razz] . And in the winter we get a "little FOG" sometimes so foggy the pigeons have to walk. but it growing like crazy. So come on down, I still have my "Rain Festival in Seattle" from January 1 to December 31 T-Shirt. So I will wear it today and think of you.
Right now it's a nice 70 degrees, working on my Cabana, hope to have it ready by next month, just brought some 7" dia vertical round poles to give it that caribbean look, well be looking for you soon...

OK Cheryl, you sound like youreally need a break. Hit the road and visit some Heads for a while. Cisco's offer sounds good. A Carribean Cabana! Must the the perfect place for a Margarita. If you feel like going far, I have Margaritaville in my back yard. My margaritas aren't the best, but after 3 or 4 who cares?

I know a place a couple of hours south of Vera Cruz on the gulf with some backwaters. They have plenty fish, shrimp, and crabs. Plenty boats, fresh fruit, and nice view, I could hang awhile. If Boudreaux went to Mexico to live, it would be in Vera Cruz.
Did I mention the shrimp and crabs?

Well, let's seee..... wind chill of who knows what, snow drifts growing by the hour in the worst chosen places (our driveway for one), cars stranded all over the local roads (how those poor people got home I have no idea), making great headway in achieving major cabin fever watching the blowing snow hide our scenic view...

Ok, BC is NOT the place to currently be. How 'bout it Dan? Summery and warm up your way??

Ok Cheryl, How about this? You come here to Florida "The SUNSHINE State", from October thru April. I'll go up there from May thru September. We'll each have the best of both worlds. Very green here. Everything is in bloom now. 80 degrees and very sunny today. Only one dog to feed, no cats, or "rug rats". E-mail me for a list of all domestic duties I'm capable of. [Smile]

i just finished two hours of gardening... it was a little too warm, but made a nice break. i live in one of the most expensive places in the country, but every once in a while i'm reminded that other people pay a LOT of money to come visit this city and spend a litte time seeing what i sometimes take for granted.

Our crappy months are July and February. (i almost feel sorry for all the tourists who visit in July). Everybody leaves in July, and February is just cloudy and everybody's grumpy. No work either month. I've learned to plan for "2 and 7".

Cherryl, i suggest you do what i do -- plan ahead to take vacation/s during your rainy months. a long weekend (or better, a week) can do you a world of good. you can spend a little or a lot, but go get some sunshine on your skin. you'll come back refreshed.

Is it cold there Donna???

Here its warm and sunny today. A great day to get a tan (with all the sun reflecting off the snow and all [Smile] ) What is with the weather??? Between Donna wishing for the snow and Cheryl sending it up our way.... We got a dump of a little more than a foot... bery unusual for us, especially in spring!

Oh well, the flowers are pusing their way up under the snow which should be gone for good by the weekend.

Time to clean up Giggle RIdge and get ready for SUMMER!!!!

And to answer your question Cheryl... the very best place to live in the world is in Cultus Lake. We get four beautiful seasons... high mountains all around us, a beautiful lake only a few hundred feet away. And we don't get as nearly as much rain (or snow) as Seattle. [Smile]

Maybe this will make you feel better...
Spring officially began today at 1:16pm. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. Since Sunday night, we got rain. And rain. And RAIN! 7 inches of rain over the last 48 hours. Around 1:00 (maybe even 1:16) It quit and the sun came out. I think I heard the Twilight Zone theme playing in my head. Even the TV weatherman thought it was odd.
If you don't like the cold Cher, come on down to Texas during July. We have both kinds of climate. Hot and Hotter.

Oceanside, California...72 degrees 350 plus days a year!

I lived there for 3 1/2 years...Am going back as soon as daughter starts college in 2003...I can't wait!!!!

You get fog in the morning until it 'burns-off' by 11 a.m.

We always wondered why they had a weatherman...it could have been a recording...always the same...72 today with fog burning off by 11 a.m.
The surf report he did was important though [Big Grin]

Oceanside is south of L.A. and north of San Diego,(located in San Diego County). "Expensive" is one of those relative terms isn't it? Newspaper stated yesterday that the median home price had just hit a new high, $400,000. I think most of that is the sunshine tax!!!

BTW we hang out in San Marcos, about 30 minutes to the beach when the traffic cooperates. That means the fog burns off by 9:00, or an extra 2 hours of sunshine. Yahooooooo

Cheryl,

I'll trade you some snow for my WIND!!! It's been terrible. Gusts up to 50 mph, you can barely stand up in it. The sand was blowing around so much it looked like snow. Ask your mom, she must be hating it too.

My whole office is covered with a layer of sandy dust. It comes in any tiny little crack under the door.

Hi Cheryl,

Oceanside is about halfway between San Diego and Los Angeles. Just below Camp Pendleton. It used to be a really dirty town with the Military Base there were a lot of hookers. It has been cleaned up now...beautiful. Carlsbad (2 min away) is a georgous village...lots of antique stores. The housing is not cheap if you're buying but the rental market is ok. I owned a condo 5 min from the beach (oooh how I miss it). Food is about the same as in Idaho...but in CA they don't charge sales tax on food purchases ;-)

It is a beautiful place. You should at least visit.

I know what you mean about the weather...it's been colder than normal this year...gray skies...no green anywhere...yech. Yesterday is snowed 1/2 inch and today it was 70 degrees...go figure.

Hugs,
Dee

Keep your chin up. Been there a couple of times and saw one half hour of rain and one morning of fog. But the best thing about Washington is there isn't one toll road or bridge in the state.
New Jersey has a great variety along with the changing seasons. Just about the time you have had enough of one, the other comes along.

For a first day of spring we had the roll up door open by 8:30 and the sun was pouring in. Thick accumulation of warm quickly covered the floor. You can tell how warm the floor was when the dog moved into the shade. It must have been over 62 degrees. I loved it. Soon it will rain again and then we'll get that cold wind that comes down from Cheryl's hood.

I enjoy experiencing seasons, but keeping them subtle, but obvious enough to appreciate them.

I got home sick of the most beautiful place on Earth....Alberta and had to come back.

I LOVE TO SHOVEL SNOW...........in the sun.

Glad to hear the weather has taken a turn for the better!

Thought I'd repost this job since I got the image on my server now. I actually got a sunburn lettering this truck!

Hi Doug, nice job. Just curious, did you attend the Letterhead meet we had there in Maui a few years ago?

Yes I did Bill, It was about 5 or 6 years into my sign career, but before becoming a business owner. I had a vague knowledge of the word "Letterheads" but not much knowledge of anything else about it, them, us, or meets or anything. I was an employee for a shop that bought goods from Carol Pikaki at Product Sign Supply. She was a great sales & customer service person that also had family ties to the islands, so she made their P.S.S.'s business hard to beat. She, I believe, helped put that together, or at least let us know about it. Were you a speaker or just there? I think Kent Smith looks familiar in his BB pic & I always thought he may have been a speaker on some topic or other.
