I RECENTLY SOLD MY OLD VAN AND MY CAR AND BOUGHT A NEW(ER) VAN....A GMC SAFARI, SO I COULD PULL A 19 FT. TRAVEL TRAILER I ALSO POPPED FOR. I THEN LOADED THE TRAILER WITH A PAINT KIT AND ALL THE NECESSARIES TO DO ON-SITE LETTERING "WHILE-YOU-WAIT" SNAPPING, FOR CASH ONLY. WHAT A KICK!!! HAVEN'T DONE THAT SINCE B.C.(before computers). IT WAS JUST PLAIN FUN.....AND VERY LUCRATIVE, TOO. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Geez Bob, and I thought we would finally meet since I've got 6 appointments in Prescott to do before the summer. I just love those antique cars and classic persons that goes with them.

I know we aren't talking about turtles, military engineers or babies...so what exactly do we mean by "Snappers" around these parts?
Feel free to make something up.

Jon....a 'snapper' is a person who travels around "snapping up" jobs!
Some attribute the name to the fact many used a 'chalk line' to snap top and bottom lines and borders. Generally, it is usually an itinerant guy who traveled town to town, snapping up quick, cheap work, and moving on. Some will call anone without a regular shop a snapper (including home based).
Sheesh! Guess I have been a snapper for 35 years under that last definition!

Bob, A cowboy like yourself will know to put thing in the boot in case of setbacks. I like the road, but sitting by the side of one ain't fun.

I HAVEN'T GIVEN UP MY SHOP AT HOME, BUT IT'S ALL STRICTLY COMPUTER VINYL AND LARGE FORMAT. THE "SNAPPING" PART IS KINDA LIKE A VACATION FOR ME....HITTING THE ROAD WITH PAINT AND BRUSHES REMINDING MYSELF OF HOW MUCH FUN THIS USED TO BE BEFORE I BECAME A "BUSINESS". I MOSTLY STAY IN ARIZONA, COLORADO, AND SOMETIMES UTAH (WATCH OUT EDNA)! JUST HAVIN' FUN AND NOT WORKIN' HARD AT ALL!

Bob, Have you thought of or do you follow the rodeo circuit? Those folks spend mega bucks on trailers and "Doolies" and don't blink an eye at price if they can have something special to show for it. Have fun you fortunate soul!
