This has been a wasted week for me. It started out with a midnight call from the intensive care unit of the hospital where my mother-in-law was receiving treatment. Apparently, she'd taken a turn for the worse, and my wife was asked for authorization to disconnect the life support systems. This was the hardest thing she has ever had to do in her life, and I had to be there for her support. If you've ever held onto someone's hand as they drew their last breaths, there is no experience that's more emotionally draining.
After that, we had to make funeral arrangements, and contact relatives both far & wide, and get through the ordeal of visitation and the funeral service itself. The whole event has left me so drained that I've basically written off the entire week, and hope to get back on track come Monday.

Bummer! Sorry to hear about your loss. I had the great honor of holding my mothers hand when she crossed over. She said she held on to my hand when I was born. It was a very spiritual experience for me....one that I will never forget. I love you and miss you Mom...

My heart goes out to you. This is such a difficult time to bear. Embrace each other, and talk about her alot. As in the all the good times.
It'll help.
I feel for you.
Ken, I tried to get in touch with you privately, via email, but the message bounced back to me. Didn't make it thru, so I'm leaving you my sentiment here.

Ken, I have no idea what you're going through, having only watched as others have done it. The balance of tears and hopes and hugs somehow bring us to a stronger place, and the example of others sharing provides hope for the rest of us in our time of need. May God bless your family with a deeper love and trust.

We're thinking of you here too Ken. It's very hard to lose a loved one, and it's also very hard to watch someone you love go thru the pain of losing someone dear to them. Such a helpless feeling.
Give your wife lots of hugs.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time, Ken,you are not alone. It was wonderful to have the support of our friends here. You can lean on my family and all of our family at Letterville at this time. Just in Dec. my sister was with my father at that time and I wish I could have been there too. We will hold each other up now, write anytime. There is a wonderful place beyond this one, I am certain. Peace be with you, from our Lord.
