Tim tams. I've got em And Cherry ripes too!!
March 4th
I landed not so long ago, and I'm sitting at Robert Beverly's computer, and I've been sitting for like, the last day or so, on flights and at airports, and in the car.. I've been sitting for too long! The flight was good.. And Now, I've seen everything.. A Nun, half my size.. literally.. Midget Nun. Looked so cute in that habit too *grin* From Brisbane to Aukland, about 3 and a half hours.. and was next to a couple of new zealanders for that... Bought some postcards from the airport, and now I can say that I've been in New Zealand!! Then about an hour lay-over there, another 12 hours on the plane, after engine troubles for another half an hour or so...
Los Angeles airport.. big.. but I only saw three rooms of it!!! I actually got through it quite quickly, and even made it onto the right plane!! *grin* Yup. And... Went to Burger King too, at the airport (after buying a few postcards)... Ok, Burger king is distinctively American... but I think I'll pass next time!! Another three hours to Dallas, and here I am (after a fast pased car ride from there to Arlington, Texas).
That's the story so far!!! And I even have a little packet of granola something or other in my bag... never tried granola before... better taste nice!! That's all for now... Don't want to hog the computer for too long!!
Will catch up with you all soon! As soon as I send an e-mail home to tell everyone there that I am still alive.. and that I haven't been kidnapped or hi-jacked or robbed yet..
That's all for now, folks! The Kookaburra is in flight!
Well, I have no jetlag, I'm feeling fine.. even though I only got 6 hours sleep last night (ok, so I'll catch up later)
Wow... whatta day. Started off with getting up, having half a bagel, orange juice, and coffee.. after which Pat got a sampling of some of the Australin delecasies... Mellers, and cherry ripes. And yes, I do have vegemite too.. and tim tams... And heaps of souveneirs. The Jumpers have a globe, a game thing where you have to get the golf ball on the tee, and I got it on the tee within an hour.. since I have done it again (another half an hour or so... whilst watching tv).. Monte has only ever done it three times.. I plan to beat it. Also: made my first snowball.. and saw snow in daytime for the first time *grin*
Going down to the shop, having a look around after that, before heading down the road a little to look at some american indian art.. After which, lunch! Seemed a little ironic.. Having chinese for lunch, after coming all the way to america. It was yummy. But.... My jacket caught on the straw in my drink of water, and it spilt all over me... great, all wet... Go outside, slip on a patch of ice, and get wet all over again!!! Sheesh... what a clutz today, huh?
Well, next we went to the Cowboy Hall of fame... 2 and a half hours there, and it was closing time! Didn't get to see all I wanted to see, but it was great to be able to walk around and see all the stuff!!
From there is was time for dinner... MEXICAN!! Hey, it was yummmmmmy... Lotsa green chilli, and corn chips, and stuff... And it was nice. Very yummy. Well.. the meal was great.. and then dessert.. and after that, I had 4 guys, one playing the guitar (the manager) Come out and sing me happy birthday, after plonking a mexican hat on my head, and monte grabbed the digital camera (yes.. we'll get some piccies up sometime)... Weeeelllll.... hahahahahaha.... it was great.. I was red as a beet, I assure you... Well, dinner, then going for a quick peek in a craft store, then home... and here I am, typing this up for today!!
The day started out good... I got to go to Walmart!!! No, we don't have them in Australia... What a loss (hehehe) it's like k-mart and coles in one (for the people who know those names ) After that, lunch at home, and a trip to the zoo!!! That was fun, though most of the animals seemed to want to be hiding.. ah well.. Saw a few cool animals I didn't know existed though They were great. After that, a trip over to Freds, where the meet is going to be held soon, and I got to look at all of the brilliant sculptures and signs he has around.. wow. Just wow... I have a feeling this meet is going to be great, and one that I will be so glad that I will be able to attend.. He and Marilyn (sorry if I spelt that wrong) seem to be absolutely wonderful people
After all of that, a trip to "The Spaghetti Warehouse", for dinner.. and up, past hooters, and to look at a "Real American Baseball field" Something that you don't see everyday (if you live in Australia).
Now I'm home, and Monte is down stairs cooking up a big pot of green chilli... YUMMY!
Well, that's all for now.. another installment tomorrow.

A big hug and welcome, young lady! Am with you in spirit and heart, hope you get some rest, (Right now we are preparing and scraping to get my 13 year old to Washington, D.C. for a class trip and still short on the fundraising candy sales> I would have been in Oklahoma to see you, but I have to work overtime this month to make sure we get extra money since not too many folks are buying chocolate this year, with the economy and all....I figure it costs $600 to get there so Oklahoma will be on Head TV maybe or just the bb. I would love to come and to see you.

Glad you made it Katie. Watch out for the Texans. They'll have you in boots and a Stetson, doing the Cotton-eyed Joe before you know it. See you in Georgia.

I'll have to catch you in Georgia. When I saw you on chat last night I should have been packin the last of my stuff in the van to take off to make it there in time. I promised hubby that if I still had a fever when the alarm clock went off this morning that I would stay home this trip.
I don't think your Dad would appreciate it if I got you sick, and Bob doesn't need that stuff either hehehe! I just called Bob Harper and Marylin. Bob is getting his cast off his arm today so he won't hurt anybody with it hehehe. When Bob gets there, take a look at his Portfolio! Steve will be scanning the pictures so we can all see a grand piece of history!
I can't wait to see you! Don't get too worn out at Fred's hehehe! Have a wonderful time and enjoy yourself Katie! I am so tickled to see you finally made it up and over!
