Dad has been pretty excited to show some of you folks here his little stress reliever. I'm very proud of what he's done to this little relic and how awesome it has turned out. I'm going to have to book a flight to the islands and take it fora spin ( or two! haha ) Anyway, I'm sure he'd love to tell a few of you all about it, and share some hot-rod stories. I heard it start over the phoe yesterday, and it sounds nice. ( Just enough of a tease to motivate me to get back to Hawaii and cruise with Dad.
Looks great Dad

Theres one underneith on the aluminum batt. box, and a small one on the firewall.
I'm building a dash and matching steering wheel and stake sides for the bed out of KOA wood(tropical)very beautiful grain and colors. Anyway, on the stake sides will be a 10 " Rapid Tac logo.
Its powered by a 60 over 327, keith black pistons, Crane cam and roller rockers, h.o. heads, ballenced, with turbo 350, corvette rear end, my own independent front susp, 4-wheel power dick brakes, power rack & pinion steering, and a MP3 c.d. player(190 songs on one c.d. disk) !
I'm lovin it !!

Roger, I am a huge street rod fan, and I visit the "Frog Follies" here each year for 3 days (over 5,000 street rods). Each year I take about 4 rolls min. of pictures, then I put them in a special photo album. On day 3 I usually take about 4-6 pics each of my top 3 cars/trucks for that years run. I then make special pages in my albums for these.
Where am I going with this....
I do believe Roger, your truck would be one of the top 3 this year!!!!!!!
BTW, Did anyone notice the 'View" behind the truck and house there????????? WOW
If the ocean was anywhere in view from there, I don't think I would ever move!!!!!
Very Nice Job Roger!!!!!!!!!!!!
On another note along these lines, One of my favorite cars is a 1950 Merc, not real gowdy, just the top chopped, shaved a new grill, some trick tail lights and of course a cherry flame job. I wish the powers that be would increase the pre-1949 limit on most street rod shows to at least pre-1952 to allow such rides into "Street Rod Shows". Just my humble opinion!!!

Thanks guys, to tell the truth I do feel a bit guilty once in a while, but like most things it passes!Ha ha ha ha ha ha
Really though, I don't live in a mantchion, nor do I live like a king, just a guy (semi retired) that worked hard all thru life and got lucky enough to get over here.
The "cost of living" is less here on the BIG island then many areas in Calif..
You can buy a 3/2 average home in my neighborhood for 220,000.00, new/with big view, 300,000.00
Throw in some 6.75 financing, your there.
This Island is NOT like Ohau(Honolulu), its LARGE but small in population.
If we wish to go shopping we drive (minimum) 120 miles, 220 miles to a "shoping mall" round trips(small mall at that) .
I'll get my son to post some pics. of the mountains around us. they are covered in HEAVY snow right now(like the Swiss Alps)so we could snow ski in the morning, and surf 1 hour later. We have a 180 degree ocean view in the back yard(whale watching right now) and these gorgous snow caps from the front !!
Oh well, someone has to live here to witness it all, he he he he

It's verra purty Roger. Bet it sounds goooooood too!
Troy- I agree! I have a '55 Chevy PU and we go to the Pre'49 shows with Heath's '30 Ford A and there is NOTHING there to inspire me for my toy at home... so this year I DRUG his skinny butt to a show open to the REAL Muscle cars and trucks and I had a blast. (He had fun too, but wouldn't dare admit it. )
I spent more time under trucks researching suspension, front end clips and gas tank relocation that he could never just look around to find me... he had to drop to the ground and look under all the trucks!
