I use the 'Google' search engine. www.google.com Instead of searching for regular listings click the 'search for images' tab on top of the page. I thought 'Google' was great before... but 'wow' this is really handy for me. I hope you'll find it helpfull too..
-the best thing about it is that it's quick and 'google' doesnt hound you with ads when all you need is some clip-art... Good Luck..good people. -Josh

Josh, I went to see, and found a lot of small photo and illustrations. They are rather small for trying to get a reasonable vectorization, and of course they can't load a vectorized illustration on the net. I guess they could serve as icons or small illustrations for a brochure or flyer, but what else would you propose for them? There are a lot of choices in each query. Maybe good for some ideas. Jack

You hit the nail on the head there Jack. I use this type of clipart is a source of ideas, something to quickly throw into a layout just to see if you like the direction it takes. When / if you find something that roughly suits your purpose you still have to trace & clean & modify to end up with a final product.

Yeah, i agree. These images are all JPEG and GIF and most are unusable. But an 'advanced search' will get you large usable files convertable to vector in a jif. I still think it's quite a handy source... especially when looking for a corporate logo or very industry specific 'clipart'. Of course the right search words are key in narrowing down the search. I hope this helps someone... it does for me. Good luck... good people. -Josh
