Hi everyone, seems to me there is a huge conection between Signies and Hot Rods. I know that many hot rodder/signies down here that its not funny and also signies that are into HOT cars and bikes. seems to me this is a world wide disease. I use to race motor bikes for many years both motorcross and flat track speedway(dirt) on 500cc with no brakes etc, and have owned a Harley (Hope to hot rod a harley as soon as i can afford one)and have still have my 1928 A model ford coupe. So heres my ride, if possible i'd like to see yours. (ride that is)

I have one still in construction.... currently in storage until we build our new shop... soon I hope!
I started it as a model T but attended a street rod event in Ohio when I was doing a mural there. I saw three T's in a row. It was a choice of which 'color' I wanted.
So it was time to rethink the project. I went through all my car books and found a 1904 Mitchell that had potential. With the thumbnail size picture as a reference we built our new ride. The body is aluminum... hand fabricated in a backyard shop. Motor is buick V6... tube front axle... hand made seat.
I have had it running and even test drove it on our back alley. I'm itching to finish it soon.
I'll email a pic for you to gander at and even post here if you are so inclined.
Happy Rodding!

OK, it's not a hot rod by any means (yet) and this is just a photo edit of what I plan on doing to my truck, but it kinda goes along with the theme here.
Right now the interior is torn apart awaiting to be rebuilt in fibreglass/carbon fiber with aluminum and neoprene accents, all of which I am building.
I'm building the seats myself, will be fiberglass enclosures to house subwoofers.. I'm a car audio nut, competitor turned exhibitor - and the seats will be wrapped in neoprene with gel cushions underneath for the ultimate in comfort.
I hope to start building the new carbon fibre body some time this summer, going all out and restyling the entire front end and bed, leaving the cab in tact however for structural purposes but will probably build a new skin for it.
Gonna be building custom lamp assemblies too, front and rear.
Installing a new air suspension too.. this will be my first mod when I return to Arizona.. I-beams up front that drop the truck 3" and in the rear the axle will be relocated to be under the leaf springs with a spacer for a total 4" drop back there. It will be complimented with airbags which replace the springs, allowing additional drop using solenoid valves to let the air out from inside the cab. An onboard compressor and tank will provide air for lifting it back up out of the weeds.
I'm doing every last bit of the work in this project, from the fiberglass and body work to stitchin the interior and designing/installing the suspension setup.
I'm not too sure about wheels though... there just arent any on the market that impress me all that much, kinda down about that cause getting a set of wheels custom cut is a bit on the pricey side. If I had access to CNC equipment through friends or something like that, I'd be all over makin the wheels my damned self.. but I'll probably end up designing the wheels and having them made for me unless some wheelmaker gets a creative streak and produces something worth buying.

That is one reason I choose pinstriping as my lively hood so that I could be around all those beautiful hot rods, street rods and the like. Since '76 I have graced with lines nearly every kind of racing type vehice, automobile and motorcycle and still don't even come close to having my fill of the sport. One thing that is really tough is fitting in the time to do your own while doing everyone elses.
I know there are others out there with rods and customs....would love to see them.

Here's a link to our '30 Model A (3rd) Rebuild. We drive it to shows (no trailer queens here!) and Heath takes the Lil' Moon (Jackie) to all the school dances in it.
We also have a '77 Chevy Blazer that has parts "in the mail" and is under construction first. This is a daily driver and a way for us to GET OUT of our driveway in the winter. (snow)
Next on the rebuild list, we have my '66 Ford Mustang that is in good shape, but is currently a V "7". (needs a valve job or a rebuild on the 289 in it) Another daily driver. Her license plate is ICEQEEN which means Cold B**ch and is a goal not a title... I do have a sense of humor! AND it also keeps Heath from driving it too much. He says he feel like a b**chy transvestite when he drives it. LOL This car was my wedding present in '94... Heath made the mistake while we were dating that if we "ever got married" he'd buy me a car to replace the '70-something window van I was driving when he meet me. LOL Never say that to a woman- she'll REMEMBER it and hold you to it!
My big project this year (and probably a few to follow) is my '55 Chevy Long Bed PickUp... My Grandpa bought it for $250 bucks when it was two years old, drove the crap out of it to our Lapis Nevada Mine in NV and back to his home in the Bay Area/Sacramento. In 1972 he bought a Blazer and gave the truck to my dad... of which dad designated it as the "Portagie Campered Dump Truck". After little over 20 years of his gadget fixin' toggle switch Mickey Mouse addaptions and COMPLETE neglect mom talked him into finally giving it to me. WaaaaWhoooo!
Now, the only problem I have is to convince Grandma that the industrial steel bumper on the tail HAS GOT TO GO. That's a tough one! She thinks the bumper IS the truck.
The Gearhead side of the Moon
With all these Hot Rods and all our friends Hot Rods... I have the ultimate playground here!
Watch for my Shop Truck pictures coming this summer and fall!

The '30 is chopped 4" and has a body by Ford, brains by Chevy. The body is all steel with a touch of bondo at the rear window. (too fricken hard to pound out)
After painting it himself, then listening to me and recruiting the auto painter in the family to "help" make it all right (ugh- that was a dense trip through the land of stubborness) he still hasn't let me lay any lines on it, but that's OK. It looks good plain (for now).
You should hear that thing when he uncorks the headers! Wholly cow! Sounds "almost" better than a Hog, and IS much much louder!
He put a gear drive in it BEFORE I met him... I'm sorry if this offends the gear drive fans, but those things are useless- IMO. I asked him in disbelief, "You PAID to make it sound like THAT?" LOL
When I get the '55 P/U on the road it's going straight to my brother's muffler shop for Hedman Headers and Flowmasters to make it sound like a "real truck" Deep and Meaty.
The sound of a Hot Rod turns my screws side of the Moon!
P.S. Nice Goat Bronzeo! Next time I'm out visiting my God Sons in Golden City I'll have to "drag" Heath over to pay ya a visit! Hey, any thoughts on having your own Letterhead Meet? Hmmmm? Maybe I'll get him to attend a meet with me yet. LOL

Well... it's not exactly a hot rod..... do muscle cars count? I have a '68 Charger that only needs body and paint to complete. It's a stock restoration but I may vary from the colour that is coded in the fender tag. Get's plenty of attention in the current 'suede' paint job ... (red primer). I always thought the '68 Charger was the prettiest car ever designed! I coveted one since well before I was able to drive legally. I never managed to find one until I found an essentially stripped carcass in 1987. It became my 'divorce project' and even my son who was little more than a toddler at the time has memories of us dragging it home and working on it. Now he's driving on his own and begging to be able to take it cruising this summer 'cause he feels he had a pretty big investment in it too. How the h*** did he grow up so quickly!!!!

I'd post a pic of mine but don't know how. Just finished it last May after about 10 years on & off construction and no fun! 1929 Ford sedan delivery - all steel (except the Gibbons kit to make it a delivery) Dark purple ext. 2 tone grey interior & grey frame. Corvette rear end - Heidt front end, Ford 302 punched out to 305, C4 tranmission, air, power windows and in the weeds! What isn't chrome is stainless or polished aluminum. If it don't shine, it ain't mine! See street rods aren't just a "guy" thing - I've always believed guys had better toys anyway!

Some neat stuff guys! Back when I used to have a life ( 1958-1969 ) I had a '32 Ford 2 door sedan with a 324" Olds that I drove on the street and ran in B/G it ran about 15 seconds at 95 MPH on old bald street tires.Built and drove 3 front-engine dragsters in the 60"s A/D,A Fuel/D, and a B/D ( it was called the " Clock Teaser" ) The B/D was the quickest at 9.42 seconds 155 MPH. My ex partner is now building a Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster called the " Hemi-Hunter " he had the original in the 70's. Big block Chevy on Nitro. I finally got a good color scanner, and when I figure out how, I'll send in the antique photos!

I have a 79 transam and an 80 corvette both need work. I am currently building a 79 HZ van and after that I have an FB ute and FJ van that I aquired from a guys backyard in the middle of nowhere complete with snakes and bullet holes. As you overseas guys probably aren't familiar with Holdens I will post some piccis of them and my work ute as well.
