I had a customer come in yesterday, and talk about a new sign in aluminium (like alumalite).
At first we talked about a doublesided sign about 3m (10ft) wide with large tanalised posts (5"x5") and a roof. That's no problem. Now we have talked some more about making a "V" shaped sign so its angled and seen from both ways when you drive past.
I was abit unsure about a roof structure for this, using 3 main posts and angling them at about 45degree angles, anybody any experience of building things like this. This project is for a garden centre.

Henry, I think the most practical way to tackle it would be a "Manseurd" style which would have a single sided wrapped roof around the perimeter. Tie the two together with a set of common joists. Fairly Easy and will look correct, I believe. Jack

If the back of the structure is not too visible, simple, angled 'dummy' roof panels would be pretty easy to frame and shingle. They could be seperate panels, carriage bolted to the uprights, flying over the sign panels, meeting at the apex. I think that's how I would approach it.
