i would like to thank everyone for keeping me
in their prayers and let everyone know that
i had a minor stroke and will have to walk
with a cane for a while.

it seems that every february that i plan on going to fred's meet that i wind up with a stroke.

i walk like a drunk and have vision problems
but i will overcome these small problems.

again thanks.

I am so glad to hear you are on the mend!

Just a cane to aid you walk? It could have been way way worse. I am glad to hear that you didn't get hit that hard with it. Strokes are a blasted part of some of our lives, but at least some are just a serious wake up call. Did they tell you why they thought yours came on?

I spent weekends and spare weekdays July through November helping my Aunt take care of my Grandmother that had a Hemmorahgic (sp?) Stroke that required emergency brain surgery.

She is now walking a few steps with a walker on carpet, but is a wiz in the wheelchair!

She's begining to feel better about having survived it all. For awhile there she was none too impressed with us getting her to the hospital in time. But now she's "talking" [Wink] to us agian... (grin)

Don't give up!

Even if it gets a little worse before it gets better, don't give up!

Oh, and the mother in me says... DO your therapy homework. Grandma, being the retired (yeah, right!) teacher that she is... DID NOT do her therapy homework and delayed her progress weeks if not months! (We finally have something on the old bird! She ALWAYS has us ALL under her thumb. LOL) Once she finally started doing all the "hard stuff" they wanted her to do, she started improving in leaps and bounds.

We knew she was coming back to us when she started taking interest in our lives again and how we running them ALL R-O-N-G Wrong. That and when she sent me out into the yard to pick up pine needles I had to laugh with happiness... Grandma was "getting rid of me" again. She was BACK!

The been on the sore end of that yardstick too often side of the Moon

P.S. Sorry I didn't post to the first thread on this for you, I was praying for you but it had a little too close to home for me, and sometimes I can't be as "strong" for others as I'd like to be... when I'm being a wimp myself. I am sorry, but I am so glad to hear your doing much better.

i found out from the other stroke that you have to have determination and have to push yourself.

ihad a grandmother die from a stroke and 2 aunts
had to go in a nursing home so i always come back to the shop and do what i can to get better.

i will be glad when i can drive again. found out i don't have the reflex to drive yet so i drive the golf cart to the shop.

i am going to see if brenda can drive me to johns meet. it is a little to far to go to fred's meet right now.

linda you can come up any time you like.
