I am looking to laminated paper prints, mounted on wood, with the superfrog. How is this going to work, will the finish be shiny or matte. will be applying with an automotive sprayer. Is it going to be worth the effort or should I just use a regular clear vinyl type laminate.

many thanx
Glenn

Hi, Glenn,

As near as I can tell what you are attempting will work after a fashion. I used Frog Juice in a rattle can to coat a paper printout to go on a wooden tool box. I wasn't real happy with the end result in that the colors went dull. If I were going to do it again I would most likely bury the pic printout under a clear vinyl.

Just my .02 FWIW.

Well I went ahead and tried it. Wish I never bought the stuff. It even made the sky look dirty. And of course the mineral spirits did attack the adhesive ( had to reduce it for automotive sprayer )
It might work good for the vinyl media, but NOT paper.

Oh, well, a lesson learned.

It's Krylon Clear. You can get the stuff in several different viscosities, including in a spray can, and with or without UV protection. I bought some and used it on a couple wood projects, but it didn't last as long as regular varnish. I don't do vinyl, so I don't know if it has a value there or not. It's probably good for interior use, but I'll use McCloskey's Gloss Marine Varnish (Red Label) outdoors. NOT the Green Label Heirloom.

Hi Glenn,
If your going to put these prints outside try the uv clear laminate. It's kind of hard to put down without bubbles, seems to have a ton of static in it but it works ok. If you're using pigmented inks you'll probably get a fair amount of life from them. If you are using pigmented inks try some of Pierres pelucid. I tried some on a couple prints last year and it by far held up the best as far a clear coats. Problem was my ink wasn't uv resistant.
Good luck
