I got home from starting my largest job., a 50m x 1.8 m re facing of a large building. I definately have bitten off more than I can chew on my own. I'm certainly having a lot of fun figuring out how to do such a job.
I'd been stressing on the job so much that I'd forgotton that it's 11m in the air. Guess who's s@##%$t scared of heights?
After many knee knockings, working in a cherry picker for the first time, I was concentrating on how high I was and not focusing on what an Idiot I was for quoting on such a job.
The long and the short is....I had a ball working up so high, I am looking forward to finishing the sign, and am feeling much more confident today.
Just shows what can happen when you step outside your comfort zone...God I love my Job.
I just wanted to share that.

Hehehehehe....your knees only knock for the first few minutes....no matter how long you have been doing it!
Don't forget Bubba Mark's advice to carry a hammer up there with you! If you fall, be sure to knock yourself in the head before you reach the cold hard ground!

Glad to hear you had a good time. I once hade to mount a sign on the top of a grain elevator. The owner had the place painted, started at the top and working down. The painter had to hire a crane with a cage hanging from a single cable to get to the top, we syncronized the time to also use the crane to mount the sign.
The sign was 3' high by 24' long in 3 sections. Two of us got into the "bird cage" and up we went. Two other people with ropes tried to keep us from pushing ourselves away from the building as we mounted the sign. It went up without a hitch.
When we landed on earth, many of the onlookers asked "how things looked from up there"?
I told them that I was so darn nervous about getting that sign up and not falling out of the cage that I forgot to look.
Man, that was fun.

My smart ass brother in law ( parachute instructor) keeps telling me...It's not the fall, It's the sudden stop at the end that you worry about.
