Been hitting as many races here in Fla. as I can. Lots of beautiful cars, with many different styles, & methods of graphics. ROLEX 24 @ Daytona, paved road course. Virtually all vinyl graphics. Volusia County Speedway, Dirt oval, all vinyl. Lots of the holographic used here. Most of it impossible to read! New Smyrna Speedway, asphalt oval. Nice mix of vinyl & paint! Great to see quality hand lettering, & aibrushed work. Lots of trick helmet painting everywhere too. Other than the 24 hour race, I avoid Daytona at all costs. Way too many people for me. I'll be returning to the short tracks when the rain stops tomorrow.

Luke, getting any jobs in New Smyrna or just going for fun?
Tomorrow will be the first time in 10 years that I didn't go to the Twin 125's. The ticket cost is just getting way out of hand.
We went to the souvenir trailers last Friday and planned to watch practice for a little bit but they started charging $8/person just for practice now. We had our 2 year old daughter and didn't plan to stay long so we didn't waste the $16.
If you're in the area and don't mind a dog & two year old, give Robert and I a call 386-228-2436.
Have fun!

Have a good time Luke. This is the first year since '96 I have missed at New Smyrna Speedway. If you get into the pits say hi to the Tomaino's for me! Also the #4 mod of Tim Arre is one of Cos' jobs.

Amy, I have been blasting over after work @ 5:30. Just enough time to get there. I did notice where Lake helen is though. I'll stop by when I'm not pressured for time. Mike I didn't get to talk to the Tomainos yet. Jamie Jr. smacked the wall good Tuesday night. I think you'll have some work to do on the right side. I'm planning on returning Friday night.

Amy, I have worked at Daytona, Talladega, Chicago and Watkins Glen tracks doing large signs. I agree that the cost to the fan is out of control!! Check out this site!

I hear ya on way the dirt cars look Luke, just who started the wretched excess look anyway? Obviously somebody with absolutely no knowledge of the basics, can't wait for that fad to end. My favorite thing at a big race was always checking out the lettering in the pits. Used to be like the panel area at a Letterhead meet without the people, now at the dirt shows all I do is shake my head
On a positive note, I've been a big fan of Indiana's Don Oneal for the past four years. What about his performance down there this year, six out of eight??? Man talk about dominating!
