I have a new Roland CX-24 and a new Dell computer. I'm using a triple E cable, bi-directional serial port connection. According to Roland, the serial port in the computer is constantly sending error messages to the cutter. Now, I can run the cutter off the parallel ports and have no problems but I want to use the serial ports! All help would be appreciated because at this point, I am clueless to this whole mess. Thanks in advance.

Just curious though...Why do you WANT to use the serial connection?

We always put an extra parallel port in our machines for this reason. You can get one for around $15, it will send the data quicker parallel as well
