I am importing a .dxf file from Omega, I need to have the text filled. The problem I am having is the centers of the A's, O's etc are filled in solid as well, which I don't want! Any of you Corel folks have any idea what I should be doing?

I was ready to reply to this, when I realized your signature file and the engraving.
What are you trying to do this for? For printing? for engraving? for cutting vinyl?
For printing: (I'm assuming the text is already converted to curves) Grab the centers of the letters, right click on them, scroll down to something about order and select move to front (or top, can't remember how it's worded). Then, with the centers still selected, remove the fill. (Left click on the box with the "X" in it above the color chart).
For vinyl cutting, you don't want anything filled.
For engraving, I ain't got a clue.

Thanks for the reply! It is for engraving. We use a laser engraver, and it's just like using a laser printer. You don't have to mess around with vector lines, etc.
I was puttering around, and then I saw a "combine all" icon, I clicked on it and it worked! I got just what I needed! **it luck I guess, but either way, I'll take it!

Well Michael, you must have good karma - 'combine' is the right tool. A note of caution, trying to 'combine' too many items, like a whole paragraph of text, could cause problems, with your machine slowing down or even halting. It has to do with the number of combined nodes. If you know you're working with complex shapes it's sometimes safer to combine in smaller chunks, say, a line at a time. I've had some traced scans that had thousands of nodes, and had to be broken apart, heavily edited, and recombined in smaller parts. So if you see your machine bog down on large graphics, consider breaking it up. Keep pluggin'.

I use ga 6.0 and commonly export my files as eps into corel.... the default background color with mine is grey and if i dont select/change it to white... the inside of letters will transfer as grey..... you could try that....
