We have added a computer-router to our shop. While this looked to be just another tool to get the work out, it has opened up doors that I never expected. Not that we want a bunch of grind out work, but now adding dimensions we had not attempted before.

So the big question is has any of you guys moved in that direction?

Joe the only limitations to a CNC router are it's accuracy, the materials being processed and 'bout 2.5 Kilos of grey stuff sitting on your shoulders.
If there is a problem with the things it's that they are too verisitile!

So many Ideas so little time!

What size is your Bot? Mines a PRT96 with the steel table.

Hey, two ShopBot owners!
I don't have a router yet and i'm on the fence about that machine. Well, not me so much as my partner... why? Because it's so dang cheap compared to the rest of the field. It can't possibly be worth messing with because it will break or run poorly. It will be a bad investment that we will never be able to resell to anyone else either - it's just plain junk. (in his mind).

I look at it and see three or four ShopBots running for the price of a single Sabre. So tell me, as real life users, does it do the job, and in all candor, what are it's limitations compared to the others.
Thanks.

We bought a ShopBot about a month ago so we are still working out the bugs. So far we are really impressed with the performance of it. The tech support has been better than we expected. We are cutting out good looking letters. I'm not real clear on some of the software issues though. It's the learning curve hassel. We are hoping to use it for interior signs in addition to cut out letters.
