I have a problem using Letter-art 8.0 with Windows XP. It does not find the security device. I've successfully used it with Windows 98 SE.

Does it just not work with XP or is there a work-around.

Also, is the upgrade worth the cost considering our "wonderful" exchange rate of 1:12 (Dollar to South African Rand).

Thank you.

Hello Feizel - can't help you with your technical question, unfortunately.

We started with Letterart 5 or so in 1989, did upgrades to 7.5 or so, and then bailed out for CorelDraw 3. My only regret was not tossing LetterArt sooner.

In the context of the exchange rate, it might make more sense for you to pick up a used copy of Corel 7 on E-Bay and then buy something like Co-Cut out of Europe to cut with. Is the exchange rate better in that direction? Also, cutters with Windows drivers can run directly from Corel without another cutter program. What are you cutting with?

You still face the same problem with XP unless there are people here who have tried it with these programs and can cofirm that everything works. Vic G

Thank you for the info Victor.

I use Letter-art with windows 98 (via a dos prompt) at work but needed to use it at home which has Windows XP loaded.

I like the ease with which I can cut my drawings quickly using Letter-art. I guess I could do the same with any other program given the time and patience to learn.

Does anyone have any screen-shots of Letter-art 9.0. I'm curious to see if they have advanced to the level of Casmate and Flexi.
