I was getting the groceries the other night when I spotted a can of Planter's Cocktail Peanuts. It became an impulse buy.

When I got home, I poured myself an ice-cold glass of Pepsi, and dropped in a handful of peanuts into the glass.

My wife nearly freaked when she saw what I had done. It really grossed her out.

But, man, it was goooood stuff!

Mmmmmmmmmm.......Moon Pie and RC Cola! I haven't had that in a while!

All we need is some Cledus T. Judd music for atmosphere and Jerry Clower can be the entertainment (if only he were still living).

Not weird at all. The sauerkraut should be cooked in a closed pot for 2 hours minimum with diced onions. 20 minutes before taking it off the stove, mix in 1 diced Granny Smith apple.
In a 3" deep casserole dish, the first thin layer is mashed potatoes. The second is a layer of Sauerkraut, then repeat the layers to the top. Sprinkle grated cheese on the top, place it in a preheated oven at 425 degrees till the top is crisp and brown.
So sagt mein Grossmutter...und Sie weisst aber was.

Glenn, the deal with peanuts in a Pepsi/Coke always fascinated me. I used to live in a real rural part of Tennessee in the seventies. Break time at work would find folks taking a bag of penuts and pouring them in a Coke bottle and drinking away. I tried it but never ever mastered it. The peanuts would always be floating at the top temporarily stoping up the bottle and then tey would dislodge and GUSH!!!!!, here would come Coke pouring all over the front of me. Yankees just can't be taught certain things ya know

Peanuts in a bottle of Coke - that was my dessert every day during high school. And it's still good.

Peanut butter (cruncy), sliced banana, and sugar sandwich. Ummm.

Also, peanut butter, syrup, and honey mixed and then spread on toast.

Syrup and pinto beans - did that as a kid, but now it even grosses me out.

Thats not to far from eggnog Linda!

My favorite food that grosses out my wife (and kids) is beef tongue. Boiled, skinned, and sliced. Great as is or in sandwiches.

Another food I like that grosses out my kids (but SWIMBO likes them too) is escargot with butter and garlic.

Dumping blue cheese on my pizza ... got my kids hooked now I have to fight for the BC when we get a pie.
They still wont go for the tuna fish and spagetti-o sandwiches though.

Bruce, my dad does that too ... but horse-raddish instead of ketchup ... still grosses me out.

If there's mashed patatoes on the plate everything else on the plate gets mixed in ... but no kraut.

The rare times I get to look after my grandson Ivan I spoil him by letting him eat pretty much what he wants - he sure can't at home, which is as it should be.

Last visit I walked by him and spotted little colored pieces artfully arranged on his self assembled "Lunchables"Pizza.

When I asked "what's that on the tomato sauce" he said, it's the M&M's for the dessert.

Bruce, I thought people in this area were the only ones to put catsup on thier Kraut
Gotta love it.

Smoked octopus arms,or 'tako poke' was popular in Hawaii, I counldn't get enough of it!!
