Ay,

I'm looking for ideas for a standardized sales contract, perhaps something of a Microsoft Word document that has the general 'stuff' but could be edited to suit the purposes of the job.

Does anybody have something like that? Or any ideas?

I'd appreciate it if you have one for download, or just shoot me a copy via e-mail.

Thanks,
Shane

I'd be interested in this also if someone cares to share. A buddy and I are talking about making one up for both our shops.

sign craft has a standard maaster form that covers just about all our needs here. we added our logo then customers name , the details of the sign, the terms (1/2 down remainder on delivery). the customer has to sign and agree on the terms before the drawing proceeds. haven't ever had a unpaid bill useing this..it is a commitment not only for the customer but for our shop!

the contract goes over Sketch deposit, Prices, finished art, explains the customer will also be resonsable for attorney fees and or collection and interest payment on overdue payment's ect..ect..ect.

in my opinon it is pretty much cover it all..give signcraft a call...they happen to send it to me free 10 years ago but i don't know if that still hold true.also included a job order master sheet too...but we have adjusted this to meet our needs.

if any one is interested i will share any of my forms with you...also just produced a form for "Work Log" for to record all time on each job(prep, layout, installation ect.)..this is a big help for my wife when it come time to bid jobs she records this info with each invoice in quick books..so she doesn't have to keep asking me "how long did that take you...well dear let me think???" also it keep the new employee acountable for his time and able to estimate his work time for bids...this is a good tracking tool and is attach at the hip...hahaha.

if i can help any one let me know!

chris

Along with the "Camera Ready" forms from Signcraft
that include: Contracts,Quotation,Time/Material forms geared to our trade.
Valcano Fonts by Anchor Blanks(CD) has some very useful forms included.
BOTH of these sources have to be purchased for your business(much like paint, vinyl & substrates)
But..... It takes Money to make Money
Unless you have the same mind set as some of the customers out there to try to get something for nothing!
Hope this helps

Shane, I wish I had a sales contract to share with you, but I don't.

Notice people, that Shane said TWICE in his post, he is looking for IDEAS. There is no need to imply that if he does not purchase sample forms that he is trying to get something for nothing.

This board is about sharing ideas and experience and learning from each other. I hope at least a couple of the 100+ people that downloaded Shane's free estimating software might be willing to fax him a sales contract.

Shane, are you looking for a template for a windows program only or any hard copy that you can modify?
I have a good one I modified from NEBS that has all the legal stuff and pertinent sign info.
Would this help?
Yeah, cheap shot Pat, Shane has been more of a giver than a taker on this board.

Well, I'm not sure,

I'm trying to come up with something simple that still covers all the bases. In the past when I've done contracts, I've tried to make them simple. I'm on good terms with my clients, and think of most of them as friends, so I don't like to hand them something that looks like "War and Peace" printed in 2pt. type on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper, ya know?

David, yes, I'd like to have a look at that if you could zip it over, thanks! I'm sure it will give me some ideas.

Gracias,
-Shane

Bump up...Someone out there must have something they would like to share. Shane is not asking for free artwork or fonts here. This would be useful to all. I myself would still be interested in seeing how others handle this problem. Everyone is quick to flame someone on here when they don't get paid because a lack of contract. Now when someone wants to know what others do or how they handle contracts, everybody runs for the hills.

If I make it to the shop tomorrow, I'll see if I can dig ours up and post it.

Meanwhile, maybe this link will help.....
