Is there a paint that gives a finish of shiny brass? If so, where can I get some?

One Shot has a brass. It has a little duller look than the gold and is often perferred over of the gold paint.

I always used bronze powder and mixed it with a compatible clear. I checked out the Web site for the American Bronze Powder Co. (under construction) http://www.usbronze.com
Do a "bronze powder" search in any search engine and you'll get more information than you care to read.

if you want it to really look alot like brass & you are interested in the bronzing powders you can always lay oil size then dust with bronzing powders once the gold leaf size has tacked .this is an old snappers trick used mostly with aluminum powders on windows. It also can be done with good grade bronzing powders to give a "cheapie" gold leaf effect.as with any bronzing powders or dutch leaf it will turn green in a short period but then so will brass.

Oh yea,... read the label on the powders tha stuff is toxic so wear a mask,...otherwise you'll spend the rest of the day with the taste of copper or whatever metal that is used & believe me it don't leave a good taste in your mouth.

Kevin:

We used to have a nice product called "Bright Gold Enamel" by a company called Sheffield Bronze - but I think they went out of business.

Alternatives to paint might be SignGold's "MiraGold" or Gerber's "Series 210 Deluxe Gold".

Take care!

For what its worth!

the only paint thats going to give you a high gloss finish that will last for years is automotive paint.

Ken,

Luminore is awesome stuff but I think it cost $4000 dollars to get certified to use it. I may be wrong.
