I recently bought some pre-stamped postcards. Printed them on my printer and want to send out a mailing. I copied and pasted a ton of local businesses into notepad. Maybe i should have saved them in something different, because i am having problems using them. I want to print on small blank address stickers (Avery Stuff). I opened the list in MSword and set it up. Only problem is the business name is on one label, and address is on the next. Word keeps asking for data field delimiter and record deliminator. I guess this is where my hang up is. I read and reread the help. Any MSword experts out there? Or any suggestions on an easier way. Thanks for any help.
What do you mean by "A Ton" of local businesses? If it's 50 or less, you'd do well to retype (or copy and paste them) into Excel, or a database program.
If it's more than 50, I'll keep thinking.

a delimiter is the symbol between data fields that tells the computer that a new field is coming up.
My wife uses a little program called MyMailingList that used to sell for about $20 and is almost dirt simple
What I'm going to say may not be exactly correct, but what you do is export or save your database as a comma delimited txt file.
Then when you suck it into MyMailList, the program lets you specify where each of the comma delimited fields will go, ie Names to Names, city to city, and so on.
The program is designed to print on labels, so you just pick the label you want and print your heart out.
Aurora is very close to computer illiterate and she has no trouble using it day in and day out. I had to set it up for her.
You can probably do something similar with Word, but I've never tried. Vic G

Also, if using MS Word, go to the avery website, www.avery.com and get their avery wizard. It will ask automatically which avery label you want to use, and will take data from excel into word and format all the labels for you.
I use it very well, and recommend it!

Corel has all the Avery labels in it's program. You can prepare a client base on a file and print your labels very easily..check your Corel program, and you will find the label set up. Very easy to use. Have fun....
