Any of you have an album software you really like that "does it all"? I've looked at 5 or 6. All of them have some nice features, but none seem to do a complete job. Vic G

What kind of features are you looking for Vic? I know some graphics programs like Photo Impact include a decent one. I suppose Thumbs Plus would be considered one.
I have a program that I think came with my scanner, actually two, one called Paper Port and the other Page Keeper. They are good also for scanning documents and all kinds of data and sorting it into a desktop file cabinet.
You don't mention the features you are looking for...
I use Photoshop which is probably overkill but still a wonderful program. I believe there is a photoshop lite (not the trade name) which I hear is easy to use.
The new Windows XP is a great program for viewing thumbs on CD's. And when you double click on an image it turns into a slide show by default ... automatic or manual with just a click. With a wheel mouse you can zoom in or out with no effort at all.
These features alone are worth the price of admission.

David, I would like to create an autostart CD with about 100 images and accompanying text, and perhaps soft background music. The program would do the sizing so that pictures fit the screen during the show.(I don't have to size everything) There would be space for customizable text adjacent to the pic and not part of the pic. There would be an obvious tool to pause the slide show or move it on without waiting. It would not operate around somebody's idea of cute features like flipping pages. Backgrounds would be neat and professional,and ideally,customizable.
ArcSoft Media Browser comes close, but it merges the text into the picture. Also, it is a tiger to rearrange pictures. Does a couple of other weird things also.
PhotoAlbum is hard to arrange and has an almost invisible text field.
PhotoParade is easy to organize, but the text is small and not customizable. There is no way to pause the presentation without aborting to a menu. They also self promote too hard inside of the presentation.
Flipalbum puts the text in the picture and is hard to organize.
I may have some of the names and features crisscrossed. The point is, everything looks like a home toy.
And these are the good ones.
There are several on the shelf at Frey's. It's a real pain downloading demos and installing/uninstalling. That's why I'm asking here. Vic G

Vic, I just did the very same thing with my family photos. Made a autorun cd with about 200 photos and music. http://www.digitalphotoslideshow.com/ It is shareware, which will run on a trial for 60 days. I searched through 10 or so until this one, works great.

Try www.photodex.com I havé Compupic 5.? and its always been a good tool, I see on their site they have something with CD's now. You can normally download a trial version.
