Do you have any advice on what to look for in printing companies to make prints from original painting? An acquaintence who has some nice paintings done in airbrush is planning to have these done. I told him this board may have some expertise that may help in choosing without paying more than they can afford, plus know the in's and out's, and so on.http://www.splashsigns.com/beatles.jpg This painting is much more colorful and detailed in life, of course. The scanner did not pick up the clarity or colors. I am only posting to show one of the paintings in mind to be printed. He has more, including fantasy art and such, and many portraits of rock stars, athletes, etc. These need to be reproduced so that the original can be kept. There are a few companies locally, but would take any advice in what to look for, and which type of printing to do. Any suggestions?

Deb, First......have the Artist check on the Legality of selling these images !!!!!!!!!!!! Once this is cleared then proceed.... The Company that I have used several times in the past is....Color Q
The price is right and their quality and guarantee is top notch.. Good Luck Shep'

Good idea, Shep! Where would be the best place to find the specifics out? He did a few others that are famous, including football stars, and a coach, but also the fantasy is his specialty. And he also teaches young people here locally to airbrush and has an art degree from the Columbus College of Art and Design. I will have him check out the site too, thanks. By the way, what do you know about finding the correct info of painting someone's image; the legalities of recreating with one's own styles and then selling? Maybe a website for this?

My best advice.........SEE A LAWYER...... Check the web there are Lawyers that volunteer their time to Artist.probably someone in your area.......... Also if he has a degree in Art..........he SHOULD be aware of the "Legalities" of selling someone elses image (without their express written permission)
PS his work looks great.......

Hiya Deb, Shep brings up a very good point about legality. I just read recently that an artist was sued for reproducing & selling some original prints that he created of the Three Stooges. The families of the the original characters won the suit on the basis of their intelectal(sp?)copyrights were infringed upon. Good luck, Checkers

fantasy paintings (thanks, Adrienne, Si, and Mike for helping http://www.stickerpimp.com/deb Steve is too busy to post here and I have been wanting to do this for a couple years now. I am almost hesitant to put them on here since the detail is almost gone after scanning and doesn't do the paintings justice. Wish he would print some of these, and here are some of his originals. Still looking for good printing companies.
