The first Midwest Rat Fink Renuion will take place TWICE! Shane Syx has two events scheduled for February. The first in Dayton, OH and the second in Louisville, KY. These events were in their infancy at the time of Ed Roth's passing and with Eileen's blessing and encouragement, Shane continued the planning. Special guests for the Dayton event are Eileen Roth and George Barris among others. Call Shane for any more info or check out the scan of the flyer at this address -

Please be patient as this is a large jpeg and may take a moment.

Thanks and hope to see you there!

Lee

Sorry about that image failure. Sometimes Geocities works, sometimes it doesn't. Here's the scoop~

The Dayton, Ohio Rat Fink Reunion will be held on February 1-3, 2002 at the Hara Arena during the 39th Annual AUTORAMA. Hara Arena is located at 1001 Shiloh Springs Rd.

The Louisville, Kentucky Rat Fink Reunion will be held on Feburary 22-24, 2002 at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds, (home of the National Street Rod Assoc. Street Rod Nationals), during the 40th Annual Carl Caspers Custom Auto Show.

Your $50 entry fee for each event covers you for a t-shirt, food and eligibility for gifts and prizes.

For any/all further info, contact Shane Syx at 937-878-5164 or call or e-mail me and I'll answer anything I can or I'll have Shane to call you.

Thanks for bringing this meet to our attention Lee. I brought home a flyer from the Detroit Pinhead Meet to scan. That scan is available at the link you posted in your original post. Those interested can print it out.

Im going to the one in KY. I cant wait. I always wanted to go to Cali to check out the Roth shows there. Now I have no excuse for not going. I have never been to a letterhead or pinhead meet. This will be my first pinhead meet and in March I will be at my first letterhead meet. I called the guy having the pinhead meet, he was very excited about it. It looks like its going to be alot of fun. Is there any one else going?

Shameless bump-up -

Last mintue reminder for anyone planning on attending the mid-caost Rat Fink Reunion. I spoke to Shane Syx yesterday and he said that if you can't make it to Dayton, you'll miss out on meeting George Barris and Eileen Roth. However, if you can make it to the Louisville Rat Fink Reunion, you get to meet Gene Winfield and see some of his cars that are scheduled to be brought in. Both events should be HUGE. Shane is a firm believer in if its worth doing, its worth overdoing.

See you at both events,
Lee

Deb Fowler just brought to my attention that I never posted times for the Dayton, OH event. Times for the show are 5PM to 9PM on Friday, 10AM to 9PM on Saturday and 11AM to 5PM on Sunday.

Also, the $50 fee is only required if you come and want to be eligible for prizes and gifts arranged just for those who pay. Anyone is invited to come and donate time and effort.

Thanks again,
Lee

I spoke to Shane Syx last night, he's the guy behind these two events. Shane said that there are currently 16 folks confirmed for the Louisville Rat Fink Party. Let's see if we can get that number up some more.

Shane also told me that the results of the Dayton Rat Fink Party grossed $968, all of which was given to the Children's Miricle Network. Not bad for only THREE pinheads and no Letterheads. Where were all you guys?

Shane donates EVERY dime to the charity designated. He doesn't keep anything back to cover his costs. He either gets donations or pays for it out of his own pocket. Shane's heart is big to a fault. Let's show him how big ours are by helping out by showing up.

See you in the Derby City!
Lee

I went to the Moon Eyes RF in Whittier a few weeks back. The best car show I've ever been to...never seen so many Rat Cars in one place outside of Pick-A-Part. Or so many "Bettie Pages". Wow!
I hope to make it every year after this.

The Rat Fink reunion in Dayton was awesome. Even though I just visited as a supporter, I was thrilled to see old and new faces, and the artwork panels were awesome, not to mention the autos, more pix and info soon. The art of pinstriping is awesome, and my hat off to the fabulous talent of those stripers. It was great to be there, more info soon. To meet Eilene was a great honor, she is such a fine person! I will try to get the pix and details in a.s.a.p.
