I'm sure I'll get "flamed" on this one but oh well. I only found out about this site about a month ago. My boss and friend Misty Hollingsworth, owner of Jackson Signs, turned me on to it. I have learned so much here and I have found so much that I wish I never had seen. I am an old cowboy turned sign maker. Most of you have more knowledge and talent in your little finger than I do but I have "cowboy" pride. I want to be better and I want to learn. I don't know if I am a "us" or they" or whatever. I do know this... the reason Baskins and Robbins is still in business is this...31 flavors. Some of us like chocolate and some vanilla and others butter brickle. 31 one flavors but you know what...it's all ice cream!! So thanks for all I've learned here but could we just get back to the business of helping one another. Maybe that will help my disappointment go away.

Stick around for a while Steve. This is a very accepting, loving, TALENTED, fun group of people.

We never got away from helping each other. Maybe distracted a little. We had a problem. We worked it out. No flame. No need to be disappointed. Like Kimberly said - stick around. Glad to have you.

Don't sweat it, Steve. You can't have any UPs with out the occasional DOWN. If you'll take a closer look, no one is refusing to help anyone and never will.

What are you disappointed with Steve? Letterheads, like all people, come in all flavours. Those that see all Letterheads as a group of well mannered, clean cut, soft spoken professionals are either living in a dream World or attending different meets than I have.
There are some posts that make me shake my head. It's usually not what we say to each other, but how we say it. For some reason, some feel it is ok to leave their manners at home when they post, and save them for live meets. That's something we can all work on.
Let's talk about these negative posts we hear so much about. Some seem to feel Letterville is on it's way to Hell in a handbasket...make that a KillerKart.
Add up the posts for the last 24 hours. I count 71 for today. How many of them are negative? There is a lively football debate going on, but so far the comments are all in good fun. If someone decides to get personal or attack another in a mean spirited way, we'll deal with that post.
As I look over the 71 posts, I see a couple that may raise some eyebrows. How many can you find? My point is that the vast majority of posts consist of people helping each other learn something or feel better. Is it possible some of us only see the "car wrecks?"

ALL of us are us. "They" are the ones who haven't found us here yet. That was all a bunch of stupid stuff. We're here together, so it's just US.
Between the many sign, design, and business related postings on this bb you will find some good natured ribbing, some off topic humor, a firey debate, even a minor squabble or two.
Thats what an open forum is all about, even one with a specialized focus, such as signs.
Without the diversity of interests, and the free exchange of ideas and opinions, this board would have all the texture and flavor of a cardboard pie.
You happened upon the very rare occasion where some mentally challenged frat boy acted like he was in his favorite sleazy chat room.
People like that will get marginalized very quickly, as the decent folk here close ranks, and will usually not tolerate such low-rent behavior.
The moderator was right to pull the knuckleheaded posts, although I disagree with the decision to yank the whole thread. Joe's question was a valid one and deserves discussion.
Don't assume that you'll encounter again soon such a crude and obnoxious lack of manners. This is a pretty good group of people.

Thanks to all of you for indulging me. All great replies and that was what I was hoping for. I have and will continue to stick around as I have never been such a great forum. I realize people will kid and bicker, hence the reference to Baskins and Robbins. I love to kid and rib others also and have a pretty thick skin. I guess I was just felling diappointed with people in general when I first post this and reading the posts on here just kind'a brought it to a head. Thanks again and I look forward to the day when I know enough to help someone in here.

This reminds me of an afternoon I was sitting in an old Diner having lunch. I sat at the counter and while I was eating, I noticed this beautiful quilted stainless steel that was so popular in those days. As I studied the steel panel, I noticed that the beauty was compiled of both highlights and shadows. If the shadows weren't there then you never would have seen the highlights and vice versa.
So you see some complain about the bad people and the bad times but without these how could we judge the good people and the good times?
It's all about balance, just like a box of Lucky Charms. My son likes to pick out all the marshmellows and throw out the oats. To me that is grosely sweet, On the other hand a box of oats is boring, but the two together make a tasty bowl of cereal.
Damn I'm hungry now, were'd I put the cheese wiz?
