Well, I've been working on our marketing package and I think I've come up with what I'm lookng for. The images below are for our "decal" business. It is set up as a bi-fold.
A while back I had asked about color laser printers. I think we are going to with the Phaser 790 which will allow me to print up to 11"x17". Unfortunately, I don't quite have the $4400 necessary right now. So, I've decided to just stick with our inkjet printer for right now. Doing so added an additional limitations in doing the layout.
Anyhow, here is what I've worked up for the moment......
Side 1
Side 2
Our company colors are primarly Reflex Blue and PMS 368 (green); with black and white as secondary colors.
Anyhow, any thoughts - pro or con?
If this works out, I'll be using the same basic formula for our "Signs" and "Imprinted Apparel" business as well.

Glenn, personally, I wouldn't change a dang thing. The colors work, the layout works, and it gives off the impression of a professional business who takes pride in their work. Very clean, distinct, and attractive design. I'm impressed. Nice work.

and ditto from me, Myra. I can't see anything that needs to change - it's beautifully balanced visually and in the information it gives about the range of your abilities.
Proud to know you!

Hey Glenn, it looks great just the way it is.
If you can't afford the 11x17 laser yet, you might want to try this place:
Twig One Stop, you can get 1,000 qty. , tri-fold brochures, 4/4 (four colors front, four colors back), printed on 100# gloss cover and they claim to have a 3-5 working days turnaround. And, they do all this for $325.00. I personally haven't used them yet but a friend of mine was happy with the results. You can contact them at www.TwigOneStop.com or call for a free distributor package at (561)740-9901. I hope this helps.
Also check out Tarvin Color Litho at 1-800-207-9444. They claim to do the same thing for $236. That would be on 80# Gloss Enamel paper.

the only thing i'd change or add is to be sure to include a sample decal. it could be a decal with your business name, but probably not. maybe a decal of Old Glory (USA flag) with your name in tiny type at the bottom or a "no-smoking" decal, again, with your name on the bottom. somthing that most people can use, rather than a throw-away.
depending on what you choose to include, you might think about how it is included (staple, tape, clip, or a pocket) and does it affect the layout of the other material (will it block some copy, or will you put it over the other graphics?).

I was at a marketing seminar given at one of the Big Shows by NBM not too long ago. There were some suggestions made that I'm going to follow and see what happens.
The brochure is part of a marketing package I'm putting together. The "package" will be a 9"x12"x4" box that will hold the brochure (and some others I'm working on), sample decals, a sample sign, and a screen printed t-shirt. I intend to put together about 50 of these at a time and send them out to specific targets - schools, manufacturers, organizations, and so on.
When I have the whole thing together, I'll post some pics and some detailed info.
I love your marketing ideas! Something we all could do more of!
