Well, me being a Steeler fan, I can not let you fellas go on like this.
"Cheap hits"?? I can't say that I saw any "cheap hits".
"Bad calls"? Hell yeah! A LOT of them. But those went both ways.
You make it sound like Pittsburgh displayed poor sportsmanship, and I, as a proud and true Steeler fan, can NOT let you say that!
Now, to give you my honest opinion, I do not believe "the Pats" won, I believe Pittsburgh lost. Patriots played a horrible game, and Pittsburgh played even worse!
But, oh well, dems da breaks!
Your still devoted Pittsburgh Steeler fan, Randy

It's awfully quiet here in Steeler Country. The temperature is in the 60s, the sun is shining, but everyone's too depressed to enjoy it.
No point in dwelling on the game. The steelers flat out lost & now must stay home. Look out St Louis. The Patriots are comin' for ya. That 15 point spread means nothing to these guys.
There are some "sore-loser" type rumors floating around which some believe that because of recent world events, the Patriots are pre-destined to win the Super Bowl. Idle gossip - the nfl doesn't fix games. Naw...just rumors.
But, in any event, let me be the first to congratulate you on your Super Bowl victory next weekend. (gopatriots-likeyouneedanyhelp)
PS. The weekend wasn't a total loss; after all, I learned something the youth of today already knew. How to make a worthless cd.

Hey Randy.....Poor sportsmanship? I didn't read anything like that. The fact of the matter is.........Pittsburg was looking right past NE as if they had already won the game. The Patriots came to play, and win, and the Steelers didn't. There were some awful calls, both ways, but in big games that kind of stuff will happen. The refs get nervous also. OP.......no one threw the game. The Pats were the better team. Fact. Look out Rams. The Patriots are planning on winning, no matter what Vegas says.

OP! LOL! The real question is; How much did the refs have wagered on the game?
...the ump's jerseys had stripes of black and yellow
- Hines Ward dragged Ty Law out of bounds by his facemask. But who got called for interference?
- Bobby Hamilton got called twice for hands to the face. The CBS camera crew couldn't find it, nor could I.
- The overturned Troy Brown reception (grrrr). One of the most egregiously inept calls of the game.
...and the (cheap) hits just keep on comin'!
- After a couple of below-the-waist hits on QB Tom Brady, Lee Flowers delivers the coup de gras: a shot right below the knees to take Brady out of the game. Blatently unsportsmanlike.
- Chad Scott slams Drew Bledsoe into the sidelines as Bledsoe steps out of bounds. Marginally legal (maybe), but certainly intended to cause injury.
...sportsmanship? we don't got to give you no stinking sportsmanship!
- Bill Cowher held a Superbowl meeting with the team on Monday! Ah, Bill? There's this little formality we need to take care of first: it's called the AFC Championship Game!
- Kordell Stewart (after removing the bone from his throat) said "The best team doesn't always win sometimes". (This guy went to college?)
Anyhow, I'm just indulging myself a bit, as the topic suggested. And I'm hoping the no-respect oddsmakers lost their arsses yesterday, and do so again this Sunday!
Bill C., thanks, you're a good sport. I know you guys will be in the hunt again next year.
BRING ON THE SHEEP!
LOL

Come on now, I think you read too much into a rough sport. First off, let's get one rule right. A STIFF ARM IS NOT A FACEMASK! You actually have to grab the facemask for a penalty. A stiffarm is an avoidance tactic that has always been used in football. Now, when you are on the receiving end of an awesome "stiffarm", yeah, that sucks, and your anger will take you a few yards up the field for unsportsmanlike conduct. Now, "hands to the face" calls are different when you are not carrying the ball. Two total different situations.
As far as Flowers hitting Brady, if you actually watch the game, you will see he was on the ground before he touched Brady. Good defensive players do not give up. Period. If you are on the ground, then you crawl and thrust yourself to get to the player with the ball. To say it was "blatant" is absolutely absurd.
And Bledsoe? Does he not know he is playing football? Why would you (twice, mind you) lollygag about the sideline (especially after getting the stuffing knocked out of him before)? He was a good 2 or 3 yards IN bounds. And it's a Championship game. Excitement and adrenaline is high.
And I don't care about a Superbowl meeting. Remember, football is still a business. "Fail to plan, and you plan to fail". "Decide where you want to be and ACT like you are already there". Just basic business and self improvement skills.
Why has football become such a weak sport? I believe all the money in this game has ruined the aggressiveness of the game. Too bad.
Anyway, enjoy your victory, but quit reading so much into "the conspiracy" of Pennsylvania.
