I am quite excited to come on board and join you as a member of Letterville! I currently started trying to establish clientelle for a basic vinyl shop.... one of my first prospectives is looking for vinyl lettering on the side of her van.... specifically looking for the Brush Script font. Unfortunately I currently only have the program Sign Mate Express, which has very limited fonts and Brush Script not being one of them. Upon a few more jobs getting completed my supervisor is willing to purchase the program Vinyl Master Pro which will be a lot better for fonts, clipart and much more.... Is there someone out there that would be willing to email me the TTF Brush Script to hold me over? I would greatly appreciate it. I know that there are brush scripts available on line, but she specifically wanted this one and I know she will know what it looks like. Also, anyone out there that has Vinyl Master Pro I would love to hear from you and your opinion of the program. I have a friend of mine that has that program and really does like it!

An arch to the copy is always good too (Actually Ida I am kidding). Brushscript is one of the most common fonts..I bet you have it. But use it with caution. It really does look bad in an arch and all uppercase. And some people seem to think it looks nice red with a black drop shadow. This is also a big mistake.

ida, if you have corel any version you got it...but please dont put use it for the main copy on the van. go back and read some of the older posts on here, and you will see that BScript is one of the most misused fonts(and those of us who have been at this a long time think its really tacky)if your working for some one go on the board here and get SIGN DNA FONTS really nice stuff and will make that job look a lot better.

Ida, Brush Script is a pretty standard windows font, I bet it's already on your machine or it might even be on the Windows Installation CD. That's most likely how the customer even knows it exists.

Hello Again All! Geez.... I should be pretty efficent soon on this new program for me..... (I hate & resist change til I get through it.... anyone else like that?)... anyhow, I now need to figure out how to take the brush script lettering over to Adobe Illustrator and weld the lettering together. One guy told me to go under "object" select "compound path" and then "make".... this did not fix the problem. Anyone have any suggestions for me?
Sorry to be a pain....I'll get it together soon!!! PROMISE!!!!
Thanks Again, Ida

John, I heard you were going to glue down your caps lock button and use brush script exclusively. Sounds like a winner to me. I hope to see you at your big shindig.

It depends on what version of Illustrator you are using, but you need to look for "Pathfinder"
I think mine is under the "window" pull down menu, then "show pathfinder" This will bring up a dialog box that will have your "weld" function.
I am also surprised if you have even a basic program designed for vinyl cutting, that it would not have a weld tool. Sometimes you can outline 2 overlapping objects with a .01" line. This will create your weld, & you can inline it back to it's original size, or leave it "bolder"
