I just got a job that involves a pictorial rendering, not once or twice but four times.
The first two are job site signs on 4'x8' MDO 1/2" duraply using 1-shot and vinyl. However, the next two will be on a 20"x40" hot press illustration board. I was going to do those two in water color or Berol Prismacolor color pencils and outline the major areas with a Rapidograph ink pen applying the calligraphy and loose outlining where necessary after all the color fields have been designated.
Here is my question to those who have the lates technology in Digital Imagery
I will hand-render the proposed shopping center on the MDO but I would like to get some kinda' idea of how much would it cost to do a digitized print to be stickum'-ready to a piece of 20"x40" hot press illustration board or a some other substrate condusive for mounting with that full-blown professional look.
Please respond if you know what I'm yalking about "cause I really don't know anyting about any of this?
The deadline on the bigger panels is this Friday which shoudl'nt be a problem. The smaller ones are pretty much an afterthought as the owner of the construction co. wants the two smaller ones to put in his two main offices, so I have some time but would like to deliver those two after I'm through with project #1.
If you would like to help, your response to this post would be greatly appreciated. I would like someone with the right equipment to put their good foot forward and make some money.

Thank You!

Daniel,

If you will go to www.gregory1.com, you can download a free pricing program. The program is geared toward the types of digital printing they do - Electrostatic, thermal and inkjet. It will provide a wholesale price (their price to you), and a suggested retail price.

I hope this helps.

Glenn,

You rock! I didnt download the program yet cause Im at a client's office during the day (contract work) but when I get home I'll check it out.

Recently I've been thinking about breaking out into large format digital graphics for vehicle wraps, getting the printing farmed out and doing the installation.

Nobody in my town is doing this so I just might be able to not only create the market but corner it as well. =)

Would you happen to have Ivers' vinyl videos? I'm interested in purchasing those as well but the main part I'm in dire need of is his tips for applying wraps. I was just curious what kind of detail he goes into about that.

You can get the complete 7 video set from Gregory (www.gregory1.com) for $99.00 right now. They had this special at the SignWorld show this weekend and they honored the show price when I called on Monday.
I can't wait to watch them.

I think I paid $279 two years ago for those Videos, The best $ I ever spent especially for things that you don't do everyday (going over Rivits or what ever)you can just review what you need. The First thing I did when I hired an employee is hand her the first 3 Videos, then after about a month I let her watch the next 4

The first 3 are pretty basic they take you way back to the olde' days when you didn't know the difference 'tween alcohol & adheasive remover
Good Luck
Gary

Thanks guys.

I have the Rob Ivers video set and they are worth every penny. But, I do wish he had done an eighth video in greater detail on vehicle wraps.

wow! $100? What a deal!!

I know he's selling them from his site at $169 which I thought was still a great deal.

I've developed my own methods of applying vinyl but it never hurts to know another way, plus I dont know the first thing about applying a wrap.. seems an almost impossible task to wrap something with alot of compound curves on it. =)
