I'm looking to purchase a gas powered post hole digger. Does anyone have a brand, size and style that you like? One-man, Two-man, tow behind, 3hp, 5hp, bigger?
I'll be using it for mostly 3-6" posts that need to go 24-48" deep.

Part II: Where did you get it?
Thanks!

STIHL makes an earth auger which can probably be had at most any farm tool store.
Have you tried Graingers off the Saw Mill pkwy near Tarrytown.
Augers are relatively inexpensive.

Have ya been to Luis Tacos in Portchester?

I've used the Lil Beaver tow behind unit. Work really well. There are some single unit brands that may eliminate some of the arkwardness associated with the tow behind units.

Mine is an Earthquake 3HP one man. Drills down to 30''. You can get extensions too.
Works fine, especially when you have a lot of holes to sink.
I'll be using it about 30 minutes from now.
