There was a post some days ago where a few people said they picked up an Oak Tool Box at Wal*Mart for a super good price. I've been to 2 Wal*Marts looking and asking the robots - but nobody knows anything about it - you guys who scored one of them can you give me a stock number on it? Where did you find them? Thanx...
Oh, yeah -- what are the INSIDE dimensions of the drawers?

I snagged one of those tool boxes. I was going to buy it when it was around 30 bucks but dana said no... I told I was going to buy it one night, she relented, and, lo and behold... it was 15 bucks... What a ripping deal.
Heck, the hardware bought seperately would cost you 10 bucks... Not to mention all that oak and such.
I haven't seen them lately. I was going to go buy several more because they would have made some great items for the auction. Dang it all!
There are no drawers but it does have a removable tray inside. Very nice construction. Worth absolutely every penny I spent on it.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Have a great one!

I saw it around Christmas time. Nicely made, but very small. Definately a bargain at $15.00 but not at $30.00, which is what I saw it priced at.

My tool kit isn't necessarily a "walmart" special but I did get a deal on it at a flea mkt. These people no longer produce signkits as they did in years past but I imagine one of their machinist cases or makeup cases could be adapted very well to that use. Their prices are not very economical, but I can attest personally to their value& quality. My particular model was discontinued prior to the 1940's & I still use it as my primary signkit daily. It's nice to not have any doubt that you look like a pro walking up to the jobsite with one of these toolboxes.

I went to my walmart yesterday and the idiot that was in that department told me he didn't think they had any more left. If he's in that department, shouldn't he KNOW if they have any more or not? oh well.

Lowes had a different one. Actually, they had 2. A bigger one with drawers (similiar to the one Steve won at Pat's meet and Pat has) and a smaller one that just had a removable shelf in it. My Lowes is out of those too.

Yeah, a bigger one with drawers - that's the ticket. I, myself, seem to need bigger and bigger drawers as time goes on - but that's another matter. Kissy - it's a wonder you got anybody to admit they work in the department at all. And there are 3 Home Depots near me that do not have any such of a thing in them. The wood toolboxes OR anybody that claims to know anything...
Timi, thanks for the lead to Gerstner - those are beautiful boxes! Maybe I'll start looking at the flea markets now for a deal on one of those $700 jobs. In the meantime maybe I'll woodgrain my cardboard one after all. ha ha. Nice to see how the other half lives.
