The drifting in and out lately side of the Moon here...
I was just wondering who all (if any) had a hotmail e-addresses and had downloaded MSN's Instant Messanger.
I have it and find it quite nice to go online and "see" when my buddies are online too. Now, at the risk of continueing to sound like Billy Gates promational slut ... if I'm feeling social I leave my status as "online" and if not... then I'm "away" or I can even appear "off-line" for those dark side of the Moon times. And... if I really don't want to deal with anyone interupting my surf time, then I can turn the whole program off a be totally "unavailable". (But that only happens once a month. )
I do enjoy Mirc and the Letterville chat channel, especially with the late night east coasters and the Aussies (during their lunch hour) at my midnight time zone (what a crowd!), but Instant Messanger is fun too.
Who knows... maybe there is already a whole "IM" crowd here and here I am paddling with one oar in the water again, but in case the subject hasn't come up yet... who's in?

I have both aol IM and msn IM. Yep it is great fun to chat while you work! I used to have ICQ...but it seemed to constantly mess up my computer so I removed it.

Hey everyone ,,, if you dont like Hotmail you do not have to use a hotmail email account to use messenger their site on one hand leads you to beleive that you do, but you dont, I dont remember the way to go around this option but you can, they put the step of making a hot mail account first in order to get this. I use my Email account here
if anyone wants to add me to theirs please do so,

You don't have to use a hotmail email acct as your acct for MSN Messenger. You need to have a passport to sign in (which, when MSN bought hotmail, they turned all the hotmail accts into passports). They use these same passports to sign into other sites/services MSN owns. You can also get a passport without a hotmail acct, using your regualar email acct. I have MSN and when I opened it, on sign-in page, there's a link to get a passport. It takes you to a page to sign up for a hotmail acct or a link to get a passport without a hotmail acct.
