Here's an easy marketing stradegy that you can start tomorrow. Try it and tell me what you think!
When was the last time you received a thank-you letter from anyone you did business with? The truth is most businesses just don't bother.
Thank-you letters are an easy way for you to create a positive feeling about your company.
For .33 cents this is one of the cheapest ways that you can build customer loyalty, trust, and a chance to get more referrals.
You can use a form 'thank-you'and send it out the day after you deliver a sign or letter a vehical. This is very easy. You simply put the form into your computer and then add the persons name and print. It's quick, easy, and cheap!! AND VERY EFFECTIVE.
A verbal thank you and a hand shake just does'nt cut it. In order for a thank-you to have any impact, the customer must feel special. And being told through a letter 2-3 days after the sale does just that!
Try it and tell me what you think.

What exactly is your marketing background?? I've been reading several of your posts and you have been offering some great tips! (Thank you very much)!!
I remember reading somewhere, that the sign guy would give the guys in the customers shop a freebee here and there.
I have recently lettered a ceiling fan and a small radio controlled boat for a couple of guys that work in the garage for one of my biggest accounts. I personally enjoy sharing my talents with these guys. When I work along side of these guys, I've always been considered and treated like one of them.
BTW.... I don't always kiss up to JUST the CEO!!

Keep it coming Jim. This is a no-brainer, but one I sure don't do. One similar thing I have done is email clients web optimized pics of their completed project that they can forward to their email friends. And notify them with another email of their project winds up being featured on our web site. We have a Kodak digital with the removable floppy disk that we take to installations and commonly hand over a disk with their new sign images on it. They like both those things, and we'll keep doing them, but you are right about getting a note or card - it's special in a whole different way. I'll try harder.
