Hey Lettervillians....

I'm almost afraid to post this given the controversy over clip art in recent weeks. However I need art of a steel lathe, a micrometer and calipers for a metal fabrication shop. I tried to convince the owner that art could overly clutter up his sign with images that not many people could identify with. It would be like a signmaker having an image of a vinyl cutter on his sign.(LOL)

But he is determined that he wants that art on his sign and quite possibly on his trucks so vinyl work is likely in order here though I am not adverse to painting the tools on his main sign.

Apparently he has seen fellow metalworkers with such images embroidered on their jackets so this art must be available as clipart somewhere. Anyone have any leads??? Coreldraw 7 has a selection of tools on their clip art disk but not the tools I am seeking. I will buy the disk if the art is suitable. I don't think the budget would allow for original art in this situation.

Thank you!

If you just need to something to look at, throw up for a design to deter the guy from using it, try the check printing places. www.deluxe.com is the only one i can think of right now. They have the little generic clipart you can get printed on checks.

Marty,

I can't ever find what I want at ArtToday. I know they sponsor this site and I don't mean to offend anyone, but it's true.

I like www.rebelartist.com

Gee Cheryl.... I thought you knew all about tools! I just may go take photos of those tools in question at my clients shop and draw them. That's if my client can stomach the cost of doing that. He has been building my dimensional sign hangers/brackets so maybe he will give me a big credit for future work. Just trying to avoid real werk, ya know!!!!!
