No, I'm not going but I do want to know what a "tim tam" is. By the way, I read through your web page and enjoyed it very much, throw some more pics up. Have a great trip, enjoy yourself and be safe.

Katie, I planned on both, but forgot that I have a family wedding on March 9th. I will be at John's meet if all goes as planned. Looking forward to meeting you. You bring me a tim tam and I'll bring you a pecan prauline. That is a southern homemade candy made with pecans and brown sugar as the main ingredients. I f there is anything from Louisiana that you would like to try, let me know and I will do my best.

Santo, I was gonna make a deal with you. I'd bring Brittney to you and you could bring Mel for me. But Addrienne has already spoken for him . So the deal's off!

I know what the Jim-Jams are and I know about Flim-Flam
I heard something about the Whim-Whams, but not sure I believe it...might be like a Bim, Bam, Boom? Ya know? Bodda Bing, Bodda Boom, Betty Boop!
So, what the Hell is a Tim Tam? How many does a person normally need to have with them? If I take an Ozzie tour should I bring some or pick them up when I get there? etc.

Thankyou for all the responces so far.. I appreciate it.
A tim tam is a chocolate covered delicacy. Two beautiful chocolate biscuits, and pressed between them, a layer of chocolate cream filling, then smothered in chocolate. The main focus on tim tams revolves around chocolate. That's right. A chocolate covered religion. Yummmmmy.
I've bought koalas.. they were easier to get. Will see what I can do with the kangaroo. Not sure if I can do much with that though, as it is, my luggage will be made up of souveneirs to bring over.. won't have any space for luggage!! I have bought vegemite. Little one serve packets. I have 25 for the OKC meet, 25 for the Georgia meet. I want people to try it... really, it isn't all that bad. Especially good on toast.
Glad to know that you will all be there... I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Katie -Hi! I won't be meeting you unfortunately, as I am up here in PA, but I do have a favor to ask. My request is for you to send me anything you can find that has "Adelaide" on it. The more unusual the item, the better, but a postcard would do. The reason you ask? My 3yr.old daughter. Her name is Adelaide, & we call her Ada for short. I would be eternally greatful, & can find you something special from here in PA if you wish! Thanks, Jerry (possum) Steward

I understand using a feather is sensual, or maybe even kinky, depending where one puts the feathers, I suppose - but that using the whole chicken is downright perverted. but Chicken SANDWICHES, Adrienne?!?!

I'm looking into the OK meet... my God-Sons live just outside of Joplin, MO,which is 4 hours from the OK meet, so I'm looking at a "2 fer 1" trip. If I don't eat anything during the whole trip I'm looking at about $800.
We'll see how well I do at fund raising and I'll get back with you on a more diffenate answer... oh and I suppose I should let Fred know about then too .
Just a thought on the packing situation for you... how about shipping out the light weight goodies via FedEx (remember: UPS is bad, very bad)or Postal Parcel to the first location you'll be going to? Then you'll have more room to pack your own stuff.
I have a feeling that would be a good way to get all your new goodies home as well!
The finally broke free from California last month and now all I want to do is visit the "right coast" side of the Moon
P.S. Katie, I had never ventured out of my home state, (except for Nevada and that don't count because they are like the "cool" part of California, and my honeymoon in Jamaica) but during the last week of December I got to fly to Missouri to see my God Sons and now all I want to do is travel around back there! Someday I hope to make it to your neck of the woods... I'm a big fan of Koalas and the idea of a Christmas during the summer sounds great! Hope to see ya here in the states and then again someday in Austraila.

Jackie is Bomba Dear, the Sign retiree, Cisco's first stop on his Travels, and now she's selling Chocolate, from Volcano (Placer County) and I am Stefenie (yes, that is how it's spelt) the many sides of the Moon from Pollock Pines (El Dorado County) and to make things hard on ya all... Jackie and I are good friends that tend to get in trouble together ...ANNNNNNND then there's my daughter that is named Jackie also that attends the meets with me, she's Little Moon.
Nope, that $ amount is Flight, Car Rental & Gas, Hotel Room, Meet Fees, and $150 worth of "Oh crap, I forgot about this or that's." I'm looking at flying out on Monday spending time with the little darlings, driving over to the meet Friday, then flying home Monday. I found the tickets for $214 online at Southwest when I flew on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday. So I picked 2 Mondays.
The I got $200 so far!!! side of the Moon

I sure hope to be at one or both of the meets but if I am or not,
I WANT TIMTAMS
as for vegemite, I'll pass. Makes my face get all distorted. Here's an actual shot of the reaction immediately after taking a big bite of toast covered in vegemite...
Also, If you need ANYTHING shipped, sweetie^ routinely does international freight forwarding and is also a licensed US Customs broker. I can probably get you the shipping for next to nothing, provided there is TIMTAMS in it for me ;-)

The USA is a great place to visit (you can tell by the regulars on this BB that the "Yanks" are a warm and caring bunch of people)...BUT no trip to this continent would be complete without at least a few weeks spent travelling across CANADA.
If money is a concern, I'm willing to bet that you could find lots of letterheads across the USA and CANADA who would offer you food and shelter for free.
All of this being said, if you aren't travelling with friends, be smart and stay safe.
