Hi there. This is my first time here in over a year. I'd like some general info on the upcoming meet in Wisconsin. I've always read about them in mags but would like to know from real people. I'm saving up for the trip already but want to know what to really expect. Know what I mean?

Well first of all every one can spot a newbie at a letterhead meet ( clean pants and shirt, polished shoes, clean fingernails no tatoos and no long beard and pony tail)
hahahahahahahahaahah
But it doesn't matter, they wont notice you anyway.
Expect to see many woman painting, gold leafing, even some kids, and just as good as any old pro!
Then there should be a big table where everybody brings there photo album and you will spend hours looking at some of the most fantastic sign work you have ever seen.
There will probably be rows of easels and people working on signs, paintings of naked ladies, 57 chevy's.
Ther will be a room or section where people will bring their projects to show off! You will bow down and chant "I am not worthy...I am not worthy....I am not worthy....I am not worthy... until some letterhead named Rita, dressed in shorts that are way to tight, will distract you back to reality.
It will overwhelm you. You need to take your camera and plenty of film. You need to be friendly and strike up a conversation with various ones painting. Ask questions, compliment them, and become friends.
You should hang around here and learn who we all are so you can meet us in person when you go to the meet. This helps break the ice and you feel like you know alot of people, even though you haven't met them.
Many letterheads could be professional musicians...and they will probably bring their guitars and drums sets and jam all night long!
And then its over, everybody disapears on planes and in cars and there is silence. You go back home and realize the next customer will walk in the door and want Brush Script Red letters with black shade! And you will scream because you know it could be so much better if these bone headed people we work for would just let us reflect what we just expereienced at the meet!

Hiya Felix...I'm glad to learn you are going to your first Letterhead Meet. You'll never be the same after.
I suggest you click on the link at the bottom of this page called "Past Meets." You'll find lots of photos and text from past meets that should really get a fire going under your butt. Looking forward to meeting you in person! http://www.letterhead.com/meets/

It was a good breakdown by Dave....trouble is he's never been to one!! ...Just pulling your leg Dave! I wish I had the resources and time to come over and meet alot of folks in the flesh...they always sound like real eyeopeners, and fill people with new energies afterwards....and after many years of participating here it would be great to meet more people face to face....we will see what the future brings.

Hi Kids! The Milwaukee Meet has been in the planning for some time. Dave the Letterman and Barry Quackenbush are doing things behind the scenes to make it work for all of us. Dave will be in Atlantic City this weekend rubbin' elbows with the suppliers to get us some stuff to play with. The dates are........August 2-3-4. A flyer will be sent out in A.M.A.L. and the magazines will have the ads printed. Please don't quote me fur sure, but I do believe the entry fee is going to be around $50.00. (That outta bring Bob Harper in eh Terry? Tigher than skin on a weiner I tell ya) It's back to the basics and everybody learns and has fun! I will be teaching Hand Lettering 101 and we're going to have a good time!!!! So pack away those little money making jobs and head for Milwaukee Wisconsin this August..yah hey dare you betcha!
