I bought it around Feb 01' and I like it. For someone who is just getting started in the biz I would recomend it, easy to learn and comes with built in clipart (sorry, but it doesn't have Calvin) but it does have lots of various images plus lots of company logos as well. It even has vehicle templates. When I bought it it was $399.00 US, but now I think it's around $500. There are others here that use it and there was a VMP group that started a while back, guess it's still alive but I changed ISP's so I don't get the emails anymore.
Anyway, maybe some others could comment on it here, as for me I'll keep it, I've made my money back on it several times it's cost to me.
Regards, Tony

Hi Neighbour Jake!!! Welcome to the neighbourhood!
I'm just north of London in the Lucan area.
Sorry I can't comment on the VMP program cuz I haven't loaded the demo yet.
Just wanted to say Hi and maybe we can get together sometime if we are in each other's neighbourhood.

I use VMP and I would not want anything else. I switched to VMP from an old German software because VMP was most similar to what I was used to. The software developers are constantly updating and they offer good support. I think the fonts alone that come with the program are worth the purchase price. Try the demo..I think you will like it.

I have it and use it. I like the program a lot. I also have letterart and signlab, have used flexi and graphic advantage. The only thing I do not like about the program is the way that they named the fonts... regular stuff is there but under a variety of other names... maybe that was a copyright situation or something.
If you are good with your layout and design, this program has everything you need to create signs that will make you some money. Then again, if you are good with layout and design, a pencil, paper, pounce wheel and your paint kit will produce signs that will make you money as well.
All kidding aside, for the money it's a good program.

I bought it over a year ago. Seems more like CorelDraw to me, compared to other sign programs. Well worth the money. I like the editing tools & the outline/shadow/distortion tools. Tons of fonts, although there's a lot of duplicates and the names are different. It has a neat font finding tool where you scan in one letter of the font you are trying to find and it scans its fonts for a match. And the squash tool will rearange your graphics to fit in a tighter area. The colors are matched to actual vinyl colors, of different manufactures. Also, NO dongle! Grap a disk for a trial go at it. Cheers.

Hi Jake, I have had my VMP for almost a year now, can only compare it to Corel. Mine was $400 Oz and nearest comparison was $2000 Oz.; when kicking off price counts! I have been very happy with it so far and have no cutting restrictions as in Corel. I also find the clipart and distortion tools great though have minor probs with shadowing introduced fonts.

The shadowing problem... If you take the image or font in this case ( a font like "freebooter" for example ) and play with it a little - convert it to curves and then weld it or just weld it or convert to curves, then break apart and edit the character that is giving you problems, then combine with the rest of the text you should now be able to get a clean shadow. You just have to play with it a little and it does not take more than a few "clicks" to get it right.
Good luck!

We've been using Vinyl Master Pro since it came out. Terrific program. The bitmap editing is worth the price alone. Tons of great features and a fairly easy learning curve. Definitely give it a try.
