I have an upcoming project that requires eraseable boards and the client would like a black background with ability to mark up specials in neon writing. I am aware of chalk boards as well as white board for eraseable markers, however I have seen a black glossy board that can be written on by the client with some sort of neon marker. Does anyone have any idea what this material is called, what type of markers are used and possible suppliers?
Thanks!

Si.... It wouldn't be practical to side-light these particular boards though they will likely be 'blacklit' from the front to enhance the neon marking if I can find out where these markers are available. Office suppliers around don't seem to have heard of them. I'm thinking that any decent painted or perhaps PVC/acrylic black gloss surface will suffice for marking.
Thanks Stephen and Rich! Any other thoughts, ideas???

Hi Marty, re: black dry-erase boards. We used to make these for a plexi fabricator, they supplied clear blanks 1/8" 1/4" usually with rounded corners. We'd roll o/shot black on back, when dry, cover with sheets of black sheet vinyl.Indestructible.They sold them to end users with neon markers(source?)They were to be edge lit, but I believe that usually meant ambient light, as most went to restaurants and cafes. Over 10-12 years we must have done 500 of them. Hope that helps. John Lennig PS real important, the fabricators flame-polished the edges of these blanks, and we were not to get ANY PAINT on the edges.

Marty, again re: boards, if they are flame-polished, don"t wipe the plexi with any ISOPROPANOL ALCOHOL or anything that evapourates quickly. It will cause the plexi to "craze" near the edges.
