I am installing Casmate-Pro Version 3.63/4.03 on my new computer. I got to disk three and an error came up! System Error Can Not Read From Drive A. Ran Scan Disk and have sectors gone! I tried my back up disks and disk two and three are bad!! I used them both in the last year with no trouble. I emailed Scanvec, but no response yet. I am a registered Casmate user, plug # 10246. Does anyone have the Casmate disks I need? Corel does not read .scv files, and casmate also runs my plotter. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Scanvec Amiable is not likely to assist you in this problem, as they've stopped all support of CASmate.
We have kept a series of sets of archived CASmate disks for this problem. I am sending the contents of the floppys to your email address. They are compressed as a ZIP file, so you'll need WinZip or similar to uncompress the files.
FYI, many people don't know that data stored on magnetic media (including floppies, ZIP disks, and even hard drives) will eventually wesr out. The problem is that the magnetic fields used to bond the data to the media simply dissipate with time.
When you say "new computer"... how new?? I believe the newer versions of Windows ie: 2000 and ME DO NOT have DOS residing in them ANYWHERE!
I'm not really sure CASmate will run on anything newer than Windows 98??? Maybe somebody who knows more on this subject can help out. I run CASmate 6.52 and have put off replacing my PC for this reason. My version runs on Windows 95 real good and I really afraid of messing this thing up!!

CASMATE 5 AND UP WILL RUN ON (UP TO) WIN98, ABOVE THAT.....NO! I'M NOT SURE IF ANY VERSION OF CASMATE BELOW 5 WILL RUN ON WIN 98.....OR 95 FOR THAT MATTER!

I am running windowa 98. I have had Casmate on '98 for a year with no trouble. It seems my old Casmate disks are evaporating!!! Went outside to see if the Ozone had opened up above my shop! Didn't get sun burned, so I guess it is something else!

Tony, I just stumbled across a box of CASmate Pro 4.0 disks (6 disk set). Let me know if you still need the other disk. I would think these are all in good shape.

Tony: Just looked and in case you still need it I have 3.62 4 discs all the versions of 5 and then thru 6.01 which is 7 floppies.
I don't know where a lot of my stuff is, but when it comes to Casmate I can walk right to it because there is always a soft spot in my heart for Casmate.
Happy New Year.

Right on Bruce, I have Inspire for Sale, meaning I'm kicking its butt.
Casmate can do things, in plot mode especially, that I can't begin to do with Inspire or even SignLab 6. It crashes well, too, and that is the main problem. When I bought SignLab my main requirement (other than Edge printing which it is limpingly accommodating with great promises made for perfection soon) was that it links up seamlessly with Casmate, so as I see it I can keep the best of both worlds talking to each other.
I will probably always knock out the simple stuff in Casmate, as far as I'm concerned it knows what I want and just proceeds on its own.
Happy New Year to you!!

Every new version of CasMate has provided tools that I've needed and I can't understand why anyone would want to use any version less than the last.
I've beta tested Inspire and never use it. Dog of a program as far as I'm concerned. Bob Burns loves it for the big color printing stuff, but I don't do that.
I got the Flexi program to attempt that transition and immediatly started finding so many things I'm used to doing so simply with CasMate that Flexi won't do. Next week I'm going to one of Mark Rugan's Flexi training classes with hope that I might get inspired.

Bruce and Terry, thank you so much for your help!!!!! This "bullboard" is priceless! I have used a lot of programs, but this Casmate, as far as scanning and editing has everyone covered. When I lost it I panicked!! The program will be stored on CD. Learned the hard way. Thanks to everyone for your responses
